Hotel Merkur Interlaken

I would give 0 stars if I could. Terrible hotel, rooms are so small with minimal accommodations. Carpets are dirty. Breakfast area was nice on rooftop but very limited choice of food items, no way that I will stay here again and won’t recommend it to everyone. The only good thinks is location close to train station but again the worst hotel in area.

Was convenient with many places near to shop and eat. Room was small, parking was difficult

Horrible experience in a dirty , small rooms, with old furniture and no amenities available hotel. In addition the rude impolite and Uncooperative staff. For our misfortune the hotel was picked up by the travel agent & couldn’t be replaced since there wasn’t available hotels. The only good thing about it was the location. I highly argue the owners to demolish this place & build a new one . Staying in this hotel was the worst experience ever . NK

The hotel at first appears unremarkable. However, once we met Denise at the front desk all that changed. To say she was helpful is an understatement. When we asked about a local dinner show she immediately went online to check. When we asked about our scheduled tour she offered to call and see if they still picked up at the hotel. When we returned and found out our tour was cancelled Denise helped us figure out our day. The view at the breakfast room is beyond amazing. When we spoke to Denise about it at breakfast she shared a photo of sunrise that morning that was so breathtaking she “became the tourist on the terrace” and took a picture. It’s nice to know that a local appreciates these views!

This place is nothing but a scam. Don’t fall for the pictures and the good reviews posted regarding cleanliness and the quality of their breakfast, you will learn the hard way if you stay. The location is probably the only selling point for this hotel. The staff are very rude and not friendly and understanding at all. The breakfast is just horrible and it is just couple of stale breads and plain coffee. The room is old, smelly and not clean at all. We found someones socks right by the bed and eyelashes on the bed and hair. This place is a disgrace to swiss standards of hotel so I advise to find a better option.

They do not have parking. O need to park at train station . The room is very hot.

Just OK. Location is fine. Do not confuse this with a Mercure hotel. I did when making our reservation.

I stayed for 3 nights in this hotel and it was excellent. The room was spacious and clean and it has a nice view for the mountains. The temperature was well controlled as the weather was a bit cold outside but it was perfectly pleasant in the room. The staff were FANTASTIC. They helped us in planning our routes to make the best use of our time. On our last day, we had to checkout at 11 AM and leave our luggage until 3 PM and when we returned to take our luggage and asked to pray in the reception before we leave "we are muslims", the receptionist gave us keys to a free room! In terms of location, it was literally opposite to Interlaken West train station and we were given a visitor card to get discounts on a lot of attractions. For the breakfast, it was okiesh, there was not much variety but it was fine and you can have your breakfast on the terrace overlooking the mountains which makes a great start for the day.
