Coast Village Inn & Cottages

This was the only place that had a room available during peak foliage weekend so they saved me and my friends' entire trip! We arrived pretty late but they still left our keys for us in an envelope with my name. Everything was clean and cozy, and they even left complementary chocolates for us. 😃 Only weird thing was that they didn't have WiFi, but the whole point of trips is to live in the moment anyway so me and the boys just had fun conversatin'. It's also near a bunch of places you can get food so it's easy to get breakfast and then continue on your way.

This accommodation was substandard and run down The carpet was grubby and damp in places The bath towels were the size of hand towels There was no internet connection unless you were in the reception area The noise of traffic could be heard throughout the night We had pre-booked two nights and would have left after the first night had this not been the case

We were told the property was just taken over by new owner and they are in the process of remodeling. So, I gave it poor marks, but I would wait several months before considering staying there again in hopes that this property improves! TV remotes were not working, and that had nothing to do with remodeling.

Our room was awful with an uncomfortable queen bed that felt like a double bed ,room was very noisy as directly on highway, room 15, too much light in room front door which had no shade. If we had correct pictures and being able to know where room was located we would not have. Taken room. Rooms are old and The rooms located in adjacent building was more reasonable

Absolute pit. The pool was filthy, unswimmable. Weeds waist high. TV would not work. “BBQ area” disgusting with no way to clean grill, brush, etc. AC unadjustable. The room looks was fairly clean but certainly not even vacuumed. Sand all over the floor. Owner is nice but either clueless or going out of business.

A few of the things we noticed-Only one light was working in the bathroom. The towel holder in the bathroom is loose from the wall and it won't allow a towel put on it. No smoke detector in the room as it had been removed from the holder and not replaced. The refrigerator was making loud snapping noises as it ran. The roku did not work well as it was buffering often. We noticed the grounds were not being well kept. No light on in the hall or on the stairs of our second floor room. It should be on at night in case of emergency. No ice available. We had to ask for soap, shampoo, etc. The personnel at the inn are very nice and cooperative and we did appreciate the upgrade, but the overall experience was not the best we have had.

I wrote a previous review and then I contacted the owner saying I wanted to be compensated since we had no hot water in Cabin 3 the whole time we were there. We also had no WiFi which I had specifically asked her about during our phone conversation, somehow she forgot to mention the only spot to get WiFi was in her lobby. We could not get the AC to work when we first arrived and it was 90 degrees in the room, we called her but she never responded however, she did manage to knock on our door the first thing in the morning asking for money. In her email response to my concerns she said she had "witnesses" that knew we had water, really who were the witnesses in our cabin? It was wasn't that we didn't have water we didn't have HOT water in the bathroom or the kitchen during the entire stay which is a health violation. When we arrived at the location there was no one in the lobby, she had left a quick note and a key. In her email response to me she accused us of trying to get out of paying for our stay, which was an absolute lie. We had paid for our first night over the phone and she had our card, we would have paid the remaining balance when we arrived but no one was in the lobby. The kitchen, bathroom and bedroom were dirty, there were no drinking glasses in the kitchen, no soap in the bathroom and there is a hole in the bedroom floor that goes straight outside. The screens were torn out, the bathroom paint has black mold, the chairs are alarmingly dirty - it is a dump! The owner is scary and real shady, she is sweet as pie until you challenge her then the claws come out. She lies about everything and is totally unprofessional. She told us repeatedly to make sure we left a tip, we were actually suspicious there were no cleaning people that she wanted the money. I am 59 years old and I have never in all my travels written a bad review until now, stay away from the place it isn't worth a dime.

First of all, the place didn't match the photos on line. There were garbage bags piled up right outside our door (late afternoon!) and the room was hot with no way to adjust the AC. We went to the desk and they said that they had to adjust the AC from there! They said that there would be no one to contact after 7pm, no telephone number to call! We came back after dinner and the room was still hot. No AC adjustment. We had to sleep with open windows, there were no screens and we were two women on the first floor.!! We had booked two nights but left in the morning after appealing to a very rude man at the desk.

My husband and I stayed in one of the cottages (cottage 2) with our 2 kids last week and overall we liked the cottage, but when we arrived I was appalled to find it hadn’t been cleaned well at all. Luckily I brought my Lysol wipes and went through about 8 trying to clean the entire cottage. It looked like even tables hadn’t been cleaned, which is shocking especially in covid age. Our AC was broken for a day and the fridge would barely close resulting in spoiled milk one morning. The ice machine was also broken during our entire stay and the WiFi was almost non-existent. Other than these issues, the cottage was cute and comfortable and did the trick for a few nights. The pool was a great amenity that the kids enjoyed and there’s plenty of space to run around and play on the property too! They should consider adding in a little playground to occupy the kids near the pool too and maybe some shuffleboard or horseshoes or something like that. This place has great potential, but it seems like the upkeep isn’t quite there and there are lots of little touches they could add to make the place a little more welcoming. I found it strange there was no welcome book with info about the hotel, local attractions and food recommendations either. These things are usually standard and really make a difference in overall guest experience!
