Royal Garden Apartments New Town

The location, very near to the train station, was ideal.

Stayed for three nights. The pricing for the third was triple that of the first. Definitely felt shortchanged. The passages to the room were claustrophobic and the bars on the doors made it seem like a prison. The bedroom carpet could have been cleaner. The sitting room was decorated very sparsely.

Very nice location, beautiful old building, helpful staff. Unfortunately our first room was not meeting our expectations (not matching what we had booked, there were windows but the view was not nice, broken curtain, smell, dirty windows, lack of care), but the staff was very friendly and immediately moved us to another room, which was absolutely gorgeous and exceeded our expectations. We loved the light, space, and the views over Edinburgh.

It felt like the cleaning service missed a personal touch, also as the check is normally not in person. The building is very old, which has its charm, but also presents challenges.
