Residence Inn by Marriott Saginaw

The receptionist Erica was fantastic. She made sure this night stay was on my Bon Voy account and checked me in quickly and was just a very nice personable person. The room was clean with full size fridge, 2 burner stove, microwave, plates silverware, cups, mugs, pots, pans and utensils. There was a small bar to eat at, a very nice pull out couch and comfortable bed. A very nice place to stay on a business trip.

The rooms are very comfortable and well designed for comfort, use, and aesthetics. I especially appreciated the separate sink area with an expansive vanity. The room and the rest of the hotel was very clean and well maintained. The beds were quite comfortable. Negatives: the room wasn't well stocked (no linens or blankets for the sofa bed, on 2 towels, 2 small spoons, and only decaf coffee packages in the room). While the breakfast area offered a nice mix of hot and cold items in theory, when other guests absconded with all the yogurt, chocolate milk, and hard boiled eggs, they were not replenished. The pool was overwhelmingly chlorinated and very loud. While the gym equipment worked great, the TV was out of commission. Overall, we had a very pleasant stay. The negatives were minor inconveniences that were far outweighed by the otherwise excellent room and service.

The pet fee for this hotel - unless you're staying for 4+ days - is absolutely ridiculous. I paid more for my dog to stay the night than for the room. I was unaware of the pet fee before I arrived for check-in and had I known I definitely would've stayed somewhere else. Free wi-fi is only for Mariott Rewards members, which also ridiculous for a $100/night hotel. They provided HBO and other streaming services on the TVs but the wi-fi signal was so crappy nothing would load to be watched. The other guests were also very noisy in the hall - not a fault of the hotel. The room was very clean and comfortable and if not for the pet fee, I am probably satisfied with the stay. However, the pet fee more than doubling the cost of the room and not complimentary wi-fi at $100+/night are major issues. I do not plan to stay at another one.

Our room was good, amenities were good, even had entertainment like pool and board games but our neighbors were awful and it ruined our whole experience. The first neighbors yelled, argued and slammed their doors all night long. The second neighbors were arguing and the boyfriend was full on trying to kick the door off the hinges and was yelling obscene things so bad that my 10 year old was scared to go to sleep and shaking. Multiple guests called the didn't desk to complain and we were informed the cops were being called. This was around 10/11. Around 1/3 am the boyfriend came back and was screaming in the parking lot (right next to my bedroom window). It was ridiculous. On top of the exit door being next to my room which slammed insanely loud all night long… we got no sleep. I informed the front desk all if this upon checkout and all u was given was $30 off my stay.

The staff was completely incompetent and never followed through with anything they said. I will definitely not be staying at this property ever again.
