San Agustin Riviera

thru British Airways I booked one night in San Agustin Colonia(sister hotel of San Agustin Riviera Lima,Peru); however, after arriving at Colonia, I was informed that my confirmation reservation was not valid and the hotel was full//so I was shipped to Rviera//arriving at 2am//the beds were small although clean; however the bathroom was not clean with cracked tiles etc.//the hotels blamed british airways and other than paying for the extra taxi did nothing//the breakfast was not impressive with instant coffee//I will be discussing this with British Airways

The hotel is old, the air conditioning works poorly. They are friendly but ineffective. Walking distance from main square is an advantage.

The hotel was right, an amazing place with close to Lima midtown.

After booking this hotel i read the comments section and was nervous i had made a bad choice. The place was very clean, everyone friendly, no complaints at all. The area was fine, walked around for 30 minutes during the day by myself. Restaurant on the corner (to the right if you are looking at the hotel) was great as well. Went out at night to catch a Taxi to the airport, didn't think the area was bad at all. Living outside of Washington DC (Maryland) this area was not sketchy at all.

Its look like night mare the first night in San Agustin Htl Lima, the Restaurant already close when we arrived at 10 pm & we couldn't walk out from the hotel to find some food because the hotel location its not in the safe area.Suppose not on the list of expedia.com

a hotel tower, as they have been build in the eightys; very centrally located, easy walking distance to Plaza Martin, where you find one of the best Pisco Sour bars of Lima and further on across you have the pedestrian walk to the main square with the cathedral, the Presidental Palace, a.s.o., with excellent shopping facilities and cheap and deacent restaurants.

The hotel is in a very noisy street in the center of Lima, needs updating; but the location does not help the hotel.

Check-in took about half hour although I was the only one checking in at that time. Rude personnel, no cleaning of room.

Despite two people at the front desk, it took 15 minutes to get checked in... and that's with my friend there who has Spanish as a first language (I have no doubt it would have been much longer with my limited Spanish since their English was not great). They claimed to have no reservation for me, despite me prepaying on hotels.com, but offered to let me pay for a room. I forwarded them the confirmation email from hotels.com and then they "found" my reservation. Even after that, it still took them quite a while to get everything ready. The room was probably 80 degrees F (much hotter and more humid than outside the hotel). Apparently you have to tell them that you want AC in the room and it's not particularly good. There's quite a bit of road noise, even on the 11th floor and the whole hotel feels outdated (the elevator buttons *clunk* when you press them in). Overall, the location is great but the hotel is not and I wouldn't pick this one again.

Rooms are pretty old. There is AC but it's not that strong (and you have to request from the hotel staff that it is turned on.) Not glamorous by any means. Also, a lot street noise, even on the higher floors. Hotel staff wasn't overly versed in English, but they definitely did everything they could to help, very very nice, professional, everything.
