The Lodge at Brainerd Lakes, Trademark Collection by Wyndham

It was a very nice stay for the family! Rooms were clean and comfortable. Main area of hotel was well kept. The waterpark was worth the price as well, not overly expensive. The only thing is for the pool to be a little warmer. It was fairly chill. Otherwise great stay!

Property is showing its age. Pool area is due for an upgrade. Hotel is clean and restaurant food is great.

A number of guests were excessively loud later in the evening. Bed was squeaky and moderately comfortable. Price for room was higher than what I expected, but I also did not use the water park/pool.

- Make sure your AC/fan unit works. Our room was uncomfortably hot even after opening the window. - Check body wash and soap levels in the room showers, or don't offer them so guests can plan accordingly. Thinking we'd have bodywash at the hotel we didn't pack any, bodywash in room was empty. Requested refill but it never got refilled. - Check guests into the correct room, and if you find you made a mistake don't lock the room without informing the guest. We have a 1 and 3 year old, we returned to our room at their bed time and were found to be locked out with all of our stuff inside. It took 45 minutes to resolve due to 1 staff member being available to handle guests. Mutiple people were having different issues and the line was 5 people deep. They had checked us into the wrong room (no sofa sleeper in room, when I complained was told chair and ottoman was the equivalent), we dropped it on check in night because it's needed to go to bed. - Have more than one server in the restaurant during dinner service. We had to find another place to eat after 15 minutes of no service. - Change arcade vendors, or at least update claw games so they are possible to win. Get matching non deflated balls for the pop a shots. Have a way to instantly resolve credit recharge machine eating money. I've plaid many skill crane games I've the years, and have always won something eventually. Some of the games had claws that were too big for prizes, it was obvious they were rigged. Kids get disappointed and money is just being stolen at that point. We spent very little time at the hotel outside of sleeping, that little time was stressful and inconvenient. I do a lot of business travel and have stayed in a lot of Wyndham hotels with my family, this was the worst stay I've ever experienced. An issue here and there is no big deal, stack mutiple issues together that impact the entire family is horrible. The loyalty program at Wyndham is wildly inconsistent on point pricing and room availability, not to mention point burn rates have gone through the roof. I transfer all points out to Caesars rewards because they at least give me a penny a point. I would like to use the points for stays but $300 a night point equivalent for a room that goes for $200 or less is a rip-off.
