Hilton Fiji Beach Resort and Spa

The room was very spacious and very well appointed. Very nice living room, kitchen and dining area. Bathroom was large. Wonderful view. Having a washer and dryer was great. The hotel surprised us with a complimentary bottle of champagne and a sweet treet. The activities were very entertaining and enjoyable.

Need to add more Bula Express shuttles, especially in the evening. The breakfast buffet was goid but the food tended to run low or out later in the morning.

Stayed in Room 4903 a Deluxe One-Bedroom Suite - Beach Front with an ocean view for a week – a week of pure indulgence and luxury. The resort stretches about 3 km along the beach front and golf buggy’s drive by ‘bus tops’ of better still pick you up if you’re walking. The Suite was very comfortable. Good beds, Wi-Fi, shower pressure, washing machine, dryer (watch the heat as it tended to cook our clothes), oven and stove top, microwave, Nespresso, BBQ sandwich maker and good selection of glasses. The house keeping team were great and generous with the bottled water. The outstanding feature of the Hilton is its staff – wonderfully friendly and open. Friday their ‘mufti day’ was fantastic with vibrant Pasifika colours and a very buoyant mood. Sivita, Lorna and Clifford on the reception desk were very customer focussed on sorting any issues and helping us. We stayed on a half board package giving us breakfast and dinner (two starters, two mains or two deserts). There’s three restaurants to choose from – the Koro is adults only after 7.30 pm. The Maravu which does Asian food and the Nuku. All were great however; we had several occasions when despite us being told about what we could have off the menu when we came to leave being charged for our food. Our reservations for the restaurants were hit and miss whether booking online or personally making a booking earlier in the day. Breakfasts were good, but we thought the food hygiene with the Minor birds and flies in the Koro restaurant, as well as the clearing of tables needed improvement. Likewise, things like poached eggs, pan cakes and yoghurt tended to run out or you could have a selection of meats but no cheeses. Coincidence or not, there was a conference being hosted by the South Koreans for a couple of days and the criticisms just flagged disappeared and the staff picked up their game. The one downside of Room 4309 is you share the plunge pool with other apartments and guests which can get invasive of your privacy if they decide to party on down or spend the day in front of your room. On departure day was despite booking and confirming a buggy to pick us up at 0745, as well as calling the ‘magic’ number to check out the buggy was a no show, so factor this into your planning and timings. The other thing we learnt is that if there’s a taxi charge on you bill which isn’t yours when you check out – challenge it and ask to see the actual docket as you may well find the signature belongs to another guest not yours. All in all, despite these niggles a great stay. Bula vinaka.

The breakfast was pretty average, the location was beautiful however on a nice morning. A lovely long beach for nice morning walks - you could walk 5k easy just on the Hilton beach alone. The main pools are lovely and deep blue, which makes them look so refreshing. The bed was very comfortable, and the staff lovely. The adults only pool and bar is great, just wish the pool was deeper as its only 1.2m.

The room was very dirty, the bathroom especially. I dont think behind the standalone bathtub had been cleaned in quite some time. The bathroom and doors were such a poor layout it was actually frustrating. We asked for a quiet room, and ended up being next door to a young family with screaming kids that had family on the bottom floor which were going up and down the stairs alot, making it rather noisy. The resort was under construction with the large building at the entrance covered in scaffolding and loud tools going all day, hardly providing a nice experience whilst relaxing at the pool. Something to be mindful if looking for a place worth the nightly rate they are charging. The gift shop smelt awful, so didnt stay in there long. The whole resort really is in need of major renovations and fitout.

The location and design.

The rooms were very tired and need an urgent refreshment. The design is fine, just run down.

Beds were uncomfortable for sleeping and it was sagging a lot and restaurants within Hilton weren’t that good compared to the ones in other resorts and port

We can’t fault our stay at Hilton, especially because of Koro bar. Bill & Niko went above and beyond to ensure we were comfortable and felt welcomed. Highly recommended staying at the Hilton and checking out the Koro bar. Thanks again Niko & Bill, you were the highlight of our stay. Vinaka!
