Wuksachi Lodge

Location was amazing in the middle of the sequoia forest. The property is however a lodge and found it to be quite dated with the decor and amenities. Also mosquitoes are an issue if you sit on the deck, so take spray. They could do with those sprayers out there so you don’t get bite whilst eating. The restaurant was ok, it’s not A La Carte as it says, but reasonable out you want more than pizza. The transport in the sequoia park is awful and took so long to get back to the lodge, this was a real downside for me as lots of waiting around in the heat for limited bus service around the attractions. I waited over an hour at the meadow for a bus when most went past full on a number of occasions.

The location is superb.

Amazing stay Thank you

We LOVED this lodge and would live here if we could. The rooms are simple, but highly functional, clean, cozy and comfortable. We loved the natural setting and incredible view, along with a plethora of outdoor seating areas to relax and enjoy it. The pizza deck was delicious and a fun place to hang out, the indoor restaurant served fantastic meals as well. You can't beat the location, it is so easy to get to everything you'd want to see in Sequoia and Kings Canyon, there's even a shuttle. There is also programming-we attended a stargazing event and it was educational and interesting. Fantastic staff as well, they were helpful and friendly and had answers for any questions. Perfect little gift shop on site too, and they even have sweatshirts if it didn't occur to you to pack them in July :) I hope we can come back some day!!

It was ok

This was our first visit to Sequoia National Forest and we loved Wuksachi Lodge. It wasn’t our normal vacation but that’s what we were looking for. There is no pool, sauna, arcade, or beach. The rooms in the lodge were very clean and I thought the beds were extremely comfortable. The rooms are basic, but that only adds to the charm of the experience. If you visit in the summer, be aware that most of the rooms have no A/C but some have window units. It wasn’t an issue for us because the low at night was around 48 Fahrenheit in August. The Peaks restaurant was the only part of the lodge that I thought was just ok. The food wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t great either and was pretty expensive. Everything else was great and you can’t beat the location. It’s about an hour drive on a road full of hairpin turns to get to the main park attractions once you enter the park. By staying in the park at Wuksachi, we only had to make that drive once to get in and once to go home.

Perfect location inside the national park. We had a very good dinner on-site at the lodge restaurant. Feels like a classic park lodge. Excellent service and comfortable rooms.

I enjoyed my stay. I wish it had been longer. I thought my room was very nice. It was clean and well-equipped. The main building has very good food and a gift shop. The shuttle comes right to the hotel. I also recommend booking with Sequoia Sightseeing Tours. The owners are wonderful and no one is more knowledgeable.
