Wuksachi Lodge

I'm so glad we stayed within the park, even though the room prices made me cringe and we reluctantly went with a smaller room four our family of four because it's just a lot for two nights. But worth it, as we were able to get to General Sherman at 8 am and enjoy it with a handful of people around, and hike Congress Trail mostly to ourselves, standing among the House trees with just our family. We also had a bear sighting that morning! Then we could return and take a break before heading out again, rather than feeling like we had to keep going from one thing to another. The room was fine, just a typical hotel room, and as I'd already read that check in and parking were not immediately next to the room, that didn't cause us any stress. The pizza deck was great, a great view, decent pizza, and families playing card games while they waited. The restaurant was alright, a bit odd as one morning I got take-out oatmeal, milk, tea, coffee, charged for all though I was told to get the drinks myself from inside the breakfast buffet (including just pouring the whole milk from the coffee station carafes into cups). Then the next morning I was told coffee was complimentary, and another guest said they noticed the day before they charged me and were confused why. The host was not great at communicating. Some dishes were good but we all got eggs benedict and eggs were inconsistent (some super runny and some hard), and the pot pie is just an odd disc of crust on top of an okay cream soup. The portions at the restaurants were large, we had some dinner leftovers for lunch the next day. I saw another review complained that there weren't outdoor places to sit, but that may have changed, as there were clusters of adirondack chairs here and there, never had a problem finding one when I wanted to sit outside a bit. My favorite are the ones facing the restaurant with the mountains behind it, just magical. Overall, the location is completely worth it, and definitely have a pizza night if you just have one meal there.

Wuksachi Lodge is located in the heart of Sequoia National Park offering a wonderful array of amenities for a good night sleep. It is the perfect stay for anyone wanting to experience the Giant Forest, General Sherman Tree, numerous hiking trails, and all the National Parks have to offer. Wonderful dinner and breakfast selections, along with great WiFi in the cabins.

We arrived in the dark after dinner. I would be nice to have a Google map in the parking lot to direct you to your cabin. We were in the Sequoia, and we only found stairs which wasn't idea for carrying our luggage and cooler. Upon checking out in the daylight, we noticed there was a ramp that took you to the parking lot. Don't want to add more lighting to the area to ruin the night sky, but better directions on how to enter your establishment would be very helpful to those going to stay there and may be getting there in the dark

Snowed in , way to spend the nights with my wife and dog . Loved our stay . Quick get away from the city and much needed

Great location and wonderful service. My kids had so much fun here and the location is the best. I had read reviews that complained about some of the drawbacks of hotel but I was really loving the hotel. We stayed in the Sequoia building and had a nice view of the trees. The lobby had all the things we needed if things were forgotten. The dinner at Peaks was great too. I wish we had two nights to enjoy there but could only get a reservation for one night.

Did not like the short walk to the rooms, not very rolling luggage on the path

Everything was excellent including the rooms at Wuksachi. Easy driving to various sites. Glad we stayed all nights at Wuksachi including the day trip through Kings Canyon. Room was very nice and comfortable.
