La Vue D'Or

The pool area is beautiful and the views are unreal! The restaurant had good food and the breakfast was great! However, the lobby and rooms are extremely dated and there is damage on walls that need to be fixed. As well, our room had a very stale smell.

Arrived and check-in was easy. Once we were in the room we were very pleased with the balcony as advertised as a valley view you could also easily see the sea which was a nice surprise. The room was simple for a 4*. There was no full length mirror, no iron and no where to hang towels. Also because the room card has a chip in it, it has to be that card used to activate power in the room which meant when we’re out for the day the fridge was off. The bed was surprisingly comfy and spacious however the rooms aren’t remotely sound proofed even though their advertising states they are. We could hear every conversation from the rooms next to us and above. We were lucky that our neighbours were courteous and weren’t playing music etc but you could hear every flush, shower and chair being moved in the rooms next door and it did affect our sleep. The breakfast buffet was lovely and never a problem getting a seat and the staff always ensure the food is kept stocked up. One of the reasons we booked this hotel was the advertisement of amble free parking. There isn’t a lot of parking (only about 16 spots) and most evenings some guests were having to park on the road. There also isn’t any car charging places which they advertise there is. This wasn’t an issue for us as we didn’t have an electric car but may be an issue if you’re relying on it. Overall it’s an OK hotel. Would have appreciated a more accurate advert as noise especially affected our holiday.

The hotel was brilliant and the shuttle service was fantastic; I give it 4-stars because of the restaurant food. We went for dinner one night and the food was very bland and too expensive for what it was, with improved cooking we would happily give it 5-stars; to be honest, we ate way better in the city.

We enjoyed a week-long stay and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend the hotel to others or to return ourselves. This is a great base from which to enjoy the attractions and resorts of the Amalfi coast. Try to ensure you have a balcony with a seaview as the views are simply wonderful. We ate our breakfasts and evening meals overlooking the Bay of Napoli on the terrace of the restaurant. It was magical! The hotel is quite small, quiet, no evening entertainment (perfect for us), clean, well kept. The bedroom was clean and comfortable. No problems. The staff were universally friendly, attentive, went out of their way to be helpful. The buffet breakfasts include hot drinks (queues for the coffee machine), fresh fruit juices, fresh fruit, yoghurt, biscuits and cakes, cheeses and cold meat, toast, pastries, boiled eggs, baked beans, poached eggs, sausages and bacon - something to suit everyone. Evening meals are waiter service and we had to choose out three courses at breakfast. I enjoyed everything I ate and never struggled to find something I wanted. The portion sizes were fine. There was always pasta, fish, meat, gelato, fresh fruit amongst the options. The courtesy bus into Sorrento is reliable. We used it several times. We also walked down into Sorrento and walked to Sant Agata - staff at the reception gave us a printed sheet with directions. The roads aren’t massively suited to walking (no pavements, hairpin bends) but we enjoyed our little adventure. Listen out for the neighbouring donkey and cockerels! Wonderful! I hope you enjoy your trip ad much as we did.

We had an absolutely wonderful time. I cannot fault the service or location of this hotel. Tony in the restaurant always put a smile on our face. The food was great. Our three year old ate so much. The only bad experience we had was the pool, it turned all of our little one's swimming costumes green as well as her hair by the end! (She's blonde). We did raise this twice whilst at the hotel but unfortunately, this was kind of shrugged off. I never saw the pool get tested. So don't bring expensive costumes. Apart from this, it was a lovely stay.

Our stay at La Vue D’Or was very nice! It made our stay in Sorrento even more enjoyable. The views of Sorrento and the coast are fantastico! Shout out to Tony for being so attentive and making us feel so welcomed. The breakfast was great with a variety of choices! We would definitely stay again😊

Views spectacular. This is a very family friendly oriented hotel which is very clean & staff are extremely friendly. Pool area spacious and very clean. They were able to accommodate our request to have double and two single beds in room. Most other hotels were unable to facilitate this request and instead pricing x 2 rooms. Free shuttle bus provided with frequent service.
