Nice hotel however outdated. Bathroom had mold around shower area. Nice staff. Provided transportation to the main city center

Hotel is about 4 miles away from the chaos of Sorrento and its traffic, with probably some of the best views over the Bay of Naples. While the hotel puts on an hourly bus shuttle, we chose HB as it’s a 20 min + shuttle ride into the town and we couldn’t be bothered with travelling to eat out. The breakfast is buffet style, with a couple of hot options such as scrambled eggs and beans etc. plenty of fruit and continental style options. Evening meal options are chosen at breakfast, this consisted of 5 options for starter, 5 for main and 3 for dessert. The portion size is about right without feeling bloated every night and the food is generally pretty good fare that includes pasta, fish and a vegetable option. The waiting staff, led by Tony are Fantastico! Hotel decor is typical Italian with plenty of ceramics and wood furniture throughout and has 2 lifts and an unheated, but clean pool ( a bit chilly in early May). My only criticism is the walls are quite thin , but other than that this hotel represents excellent Vfm.

Great hotel in a magnificent situation. Wonderful views of Sorrent and Bay of Napoli. Good food, good staff and good service Very nicely appointed throughout. Nothing is too much trouble for reception and service staff with especial mention for Tony and his team at the beautiful and scenic restaurant.

After rushing around on a tour of Italy, we arrived at this hotel feeling tired. The stunning views, pool, and friendly staff were very welcome. There is a shuttle bus every hour to get to Sorrento city centre. We had a balcony with views over the Bay of Napoli. We were sad to leave.

Negatives No kettle/ coffee machine No tea/ coffee / sugar in rooms No bottled water on arrival. There are no shops close to buy any! Small portions at diner apart from pasta dishes , meat and fish portions very small No bacon at breakfast, hot choice limited Tony the head waiter to loud and repetitive with “ Fantastico”😬 especially in the morning, he also appeared to have favourite guests?( repeat guests maybe!) Tata the young waiter stood out always smiling and interested in his guests👍🏻 Bar and food prices to high as you are a bit isolated 7.50euro for a small beer ? Get your supplies in town and return via free coach Positives Lovely location up on the hill , almost alpine with lovely views across Naples bay. Woken by cockerels and the donkey in the mornings. Helpful and friendly staff , our room was attended to everyday. Free coach with good service to and from Sorrento, reception staff can book excursions. Meals OK but water ( 3.50) expensive, there should be table water on the table plus house wine 20.00! No offer of fruit juice as starter and no tea or coffee after dinner, so take your own small kettle and T-bags and coffee sachets. The hotel in general is spotless with a nice pool area and terraces for sitting. It is a bit dated, the rooms are small but adequate and our room had a lovely shower. Highlights boat tour to Capri( you must do the chairlift) visit to Pompei and Vesuvius, although Pompei part felt rushed, and we appear to have missed a lot! Beautiful boat trip to Amalfi and Positano. Our tours were booked through the hotel.

We had a fantastic stay at Vue d’or. Me, my husband and our two year old were comfortable in our triple room which had a balcony overlooking Sorrento and Vesuvius, and the sea. Stunning views. We loved being a little out of town so it was quieter and the free shuttle bus (and local bus if shuttle time not convenient) worked perfectly to get in and out of town quickly. Breakfast was okay, every day was the same (egg, beans, sausages, cold meats, yoghurt, fruit and cereal) but it was absolutely fine and covered all bases/tastes. We ate at the hotel on our first night but it was quite expensive so chose to eat in Sorrento for the rest of our stay. The pool is not heated and was very cold but obviously down to time of year. Staff were friendly and happy to help, Tony in the restaurant was always smiling and obviously loves his job. Hotel was very clean. Overall I would definitely recommend and return to HVD!

This hotel is in a great location with the most incredible views of Sorrento and Mount Vesuvius! Although it is not in easy walking distance of Sorrento, the hotel has a free shuttle bus to get to and from the town, which we found to be reliable. Our room (triple room) was perfect for what we needed, and it was always very clean. The staff were all really lovely and approachable, especially Tony, he was FANTASTICO 😊 The only slight downside was that we stayed half board, and although the breakfast was nice, the evening meal options were sometimes hit or miss. But this might be down to personal preference. Overall, a great place to stay when visiting Sorrento for the views alone.

The view from the balcony is breathtaking and they have a good breakfast. Will stay here again for the next trip

Delightful hotel . Friendly service and stunning views . Perfect location . I had a wonderful stay and would highly recommend it . The breakfast was also great and the service is outstanding. One of the waiters even helped me take my pictures as I was traveling alone , with a smile . Great vibe .
