Jade Garden Hotel Beijing

Good location, close to several sights and the main shopping area in Wangfujing.

Perfect location no issues with communication at check in. Front desk had plenty of staff and not unmanned as hotels.com description. Plenty of good food options at hotel and nearby. Would highly recommend.

Being an ex-CCP headquarters, you get to see a lot of history in the building. Well maintained hotel and clean as compared to other 'old' hotels in Beijing. A lot of photographs of past CCP members all over the hotel.

We stayed at the Jade Garden Hotel for a week, using it as a base for exploring the local area. The location is incredibly central, within easy walking distance of some of the BIG sights (Forbidden City, Tieranam Square, Hutongs etc). It is about 1 to 1.5 km from 3 different metro stations, allowing you options depending on the metro line you want. (MetroMan App is brilliant for working out metro options). There was a number of local restaurants in front of the hotel and on the street towards the Forbidden City, with Wanfing Shopping Centre down the road for even more options, including ‘Western” options. The Standard Twin room itself was great. It was well furnished and spacious. Had a bath and shower over the bath with plenty of hot water. Bathroom toiletries were also available and topped up each day. Beds were comfortable and I think they were King Singles as they were quite big. The rooms was well equipped with TV (a couple of English Movie Channels), kettle with teas and coffees replenished daily, Fridge and a safety deposit box. The room was very quiet. It was dated but didn't bother us. Wifi was fab and we were able to get it in our room which was brilliant. The have a restaurant which provides lunch and have a full breakfast option for 69 Yuan. It was actually pretty great with a chef making eggs as you like, cereals, Chinese and full breakfast options. The front desk staff spoke little English but were keen to help and made us feel welcome. Google Translator is always a winner. The history behind the place is pretty amazing too. While this is not a flash hotel, it had everything we needed and we were very happy during the week we spent her.

We stayed for 2 nights at this Hotel one night before we went on the cruise then another night after the cruise. Very frustrating as very little English was spoken and we had trouble getting any clear information from the time we arrived till the time we left. The room was clean but there was a strong smell of food in the room which was unpleasant. Location was good close to the Forbidden City and shops were a few blocks away. The traffic was horrendous, people on motor bikes without helmets with children on the back, a battle just to cross the road as they have no concept of giving way. Absolutely hated the way they were spitting in the street, just disgusting. Never want to return to Beijing.

Jade Garden is a short walk to an enormous mall that looks like Time’s Square. Also walking distance to Forbidden City and Tiananmen Square.

Historic property centrally located. Good breakfast buffet.

Great location. Sufficient service. Excellent buffe restaurant for lunch (it has breakfast also, but I did not used it). Very helpful staff. Good value for the price.

Bathroom smells very bad. Breakfast is OK. Walk distance to forbidden city, tianmen square, quan just de Peking roast duck restaurant.
