Jade Garden Hotel Beijing

They are in the middle of everything. Service is great. A block from the forbidden city. Two blocks from the shopping district. Eight blocks from the National museum and eight the other direction to the temple of heaven.

Great location just around the corner from the Forbidden City

This hotel is a great location, walking distance to the shopping centre where there are lots of restaurants and also to Tian’anmen square. The room was comfortable but quite dated and could have done with a thorough clean. There was some food residue on the floor that stayed there for the 3 nights we did! During our stay we had to call reception to bring us a new safe as ours wasn’t working. They never actually arrived and we ended up asking one of the cleaners who was in the hallway. The toilet was also blocked one night and the air conditioning was set to 27°C which made it extremely warm at night!

Staying here is like staying at the Holiday Inn, if you want to compare it to something. The employees are hospitable and accommodating. You'll have to stumble through speaking English, but that's to be expected. Front desk guy helped with bags and refused to take a tip. You can exchange foreign currency at the front desk too. Turn right out of the hotel and you can walk to the Forbidden City. Turn right and walk to Wangfujing Street to go shopping. Overall, a clean and decent place to stay, with thoughtful amenities. They provide toiletries and even have a water filter in the bathroom, so you have water to drink.

Jade Garden has many fantastic attributes, and some things that may be off-putting for a bougie guest. The hotel's central location withing walking distance of the forbidden city is an ideal base for any trip to Beijing. I have stayed at this hotel twice now, and have not been disappointed. One of the coolest aspects of the property is its history. Upon entering the Jade Garden hotel, one will not be wowed by a grand reception area or anything of the sort. However, the staff is courteous and efficient. Check-in is typically seamless from my own experiences. I will state that the rooms are a bit dated, but they are comfortable enough for a good night's rest, and I would hope that you are not spending too much time in the room anyways. Don't expect anything above basic amenities, and you will find yourself in the perfect spot. The hotel is affordable, centrally located, and the staff are efficient. Who could ask for more? For those of you with ridiculous expectations, please don't stay here, as you will only leave a bad review and deter others from enjoying this little gem in Beijing. Safe travels!

easy to get to, great location, friendly welcome, free upgrade :). had lunch buffet in restaurant one day, was good. front desk staff always friendly and helpful, would stay again.

Excellent location, walking distance to Forbidden City, Tianmen

I recently went to Beijing with my mother and sister. When we entered this gorgeous lobby, they greeted us with a smile, checked us in easy and quick, and helped us with our bags to our room. When we wanted a place to eat after our long flight they pointed us to many great places. Their English was not super good, but it was enough to get us to our dinner destination. The hotel wasn't near our tourist destinations, but it was just a simple car ride away and every time we left the hotel, we got a kind goodbye from the staff. I loved the breakfast they had every morning. They had an omelet bar where you would go up to them and they would make you a yummy tasting omelet right in front of your eyes. They also had a bar where they could serve you a bowl of rice noodle soup with anything you wanted in it. There was a wide selection of foods you could choose from and you could eat as much as you wanted until breakfast was over. The staff was really friendly and very reliable when you needed something. The room wasn't the prettiest, but it was comfortable enough for a weeks stay. Overall, I would definitely recommend this hotel for everyone.
