The Inn at Stonecliffe

Fairy tale experience, just amazing. 11/10- can’t say enough good things.

It’s a magical place in an idyllic setting. Loved it. The vast green lawns dotted by white Adirondack chairs and comfy hammocks immediately settled me down for a wonderful get-away. The amazing staff was warm and welcoming. A shout out to William who went the extra mile, again and again. I deeply appreciated the built-in attention to detail: staff bringing wood to our fire pit at night, free kits to make S’mores, and the generally beautiful mansion and rooms.

This property is GORGEOUS and the rooms are nice. Not sure this place is worth the price for a couple of reasons. First, seems like they have staff issues. Short-handed often. Bickering among the employees. Stuff like that. But brand new and clean. Second, for a resort of this size and price surprised that only two places to eat and two small pools. Not as much "resort" stuff as I would suspect. Oh, and they will gouge you on transportation and you are very remote. Prepare to bike a lot. But a lot of promise and gorgeous, serene, quiet location.

My wife and I just returned from a magical three-night stay at the Inn at Stonecliffe—a truly beautiful spot on Mackinac Island. Rather than repeat the many well-deserved compliments from other guests, I’ll focus on a few things future travelers may want to know. 1. Resort Fee: Be aware of the 20% resort fee, which wasn’t clearly detailed at booking. For us, that meant $160–$180 extra per night, which felt steep compared to other luxury resorts we’ve stayed at worldwide. 2. Room Experience: We stayed in a Summer Waterview King Room, which was stylish and clean. However, the walls are paper-thin—we could clearly hear neighbors talking and showers running in nearby rooms, which disrupted the otherwise relaxing atmosphere. 3. Family-Friendly Vibe: We chose Stonecliffe for its location away from the touristy downtown, expecting a quiet, romantic getaway. While the setting is beautiful, the resort caters to families with children. If you're expecting an adult-focused experience, this might not be the best fit. Overall, a beautiful property with exceptional service and attention to detail—just be sure to arrive with clear expectations.

This property will exceed expectations. It was an incredible property that was top-notch, gorgeous and like stepping back in time. If you are looking for rest and relaxation with what feels like a very exclusive experience, look no further. I'd pick this over the Grand Hotel any day.

I went with my partner here and had a beautiful time. The grounds are exquisite. The sunsets are amazing. The island is so much fun. The staff was so friendly and accommodating. William was so welcoming to us and we are so thankful to him for making our stay so wonderful. We can't wait to go back!

Gorgeous resort with beautifully kept gardens. Fantastic hidden perks, hammocks abound, nightly smores, a killer view of might mac. Book it, you'll have a wonderful adventure.

The only problem is the location of the property. Don't get me wrong.. You was outstanding and fabulous. The time it takes to get anywhere is 40minutes to an hour. If we were bikers and they had electric bikes then it's perfect. PLAN well ahead to go to dinner, shop in town or do anything outside of the resort. This place was truly special but the moving around quickly was the only issue. I would recommend and also I would stay here again and again.

This Inn has one of the most beautiful settings I've ever experienced on grounds that are beautifully landscaped. Very tranquil settings with nice views of Lake Huron. The staff are very accommodating.
