The Inn at Stonecliffe

The Inn at Stonecliffe is an absolutely elegant resort, a serene oasis delightfully removed from the tourist frenzy of downtown Mackinac Island. Unquestionably ownership has created an employee culture of warmth and gracious hospitality, from the smiling faces at the front desk, to the lovely hunting style bar, to the housekeeping staff. Chatting with William Gotterer, one of the attentive and friendly resort managers, quickly confirmed the focus on exceptional service in every dimension for the resort guests. Thus, an enthusiastic five stars from me for our second summer stay at the Inn at Stonecliffe.

We had a wonderful stay at the Inn at Stonecliffe. The resort is beautiful and the staff very friendly and helpful. We found it easy to walk and bike into town and then come back and relax at the resort in the evening. There were plenty of food and activity options on grounds. We stayed in the Summer house and the room was a good size and sheets and towels were excellent. Housekeeping did a great job too.

We stayed at the Inn for three nights. We were placed in the Summer House, which is separate from the original building but not too far. Our room had a small shower, but a very comfortable bed and a cute sitting area. The front and back lawns were idyllic - full of chairs, fire pits and games. The staff were very helpful. Food was reasonable - good but not Michelin great, as was expected from a tourist spot. We biked everywhere and really loved the experience. I walked into the Grand Hotel and was grateful we chose a quieter, more modern locale.

Loved it so much last summer, we had to come back again...and brought friends! Staff is so welcoming and friendly! Met William Gotterer, who's housekeeping staff made sure our accommodations were just perfect, and Adam and bar staff also!

This was our first stay at the Inn at Stonecliffe, and it was truly a wonderful experience from beginning to end. The setting is absolutely beautiful, quiet, scenic, and full of charm. It felt like a peaceful retreat away from the busier parts of the island. We especially enjoyed breakfast on the patio, where we were served by a young man from Turkey who was exceptional. His friendly attitude, attentiveness, and willingness to help made our mornings especially enjoyable, and we hope he is recognized for his outstanding service. We also appreciated the historic charm of the property, the welcoming staff, and the overall relaxing atmosphere. Everything about our stay made us feel well cared for. If we ever return to Mackinac Island, we can’t imagine staying anywhere else!

We had dinner at the restaurant. Honestly, it was bad. I cant think of any better terms to describe the food. I think ingredients were fresh but the taste was dreadful and the price way too hefty for the taste. We left hungry and regretting dinner.

This is really one of the most perfect places to vacation in every respect. First class!

This is and extraordinary property with so much to do. The staff is amazing and very attentive. The rooms are gorgeous and the grounds are immaculate, we can't wait to go back next year and stay on the island and at Stonecliffe. It was fun for the entire family and worth every penny.
