Arabella Hotel Golf & Spa

The Arabella Hotel and Golf course are top quality venues. Staff if great and the service is good.There is room for improvement though. It was not possible to have a cocktail or glass of wine outside, despite it being a great sundown evening, nor was it possible to have breakfast outside, despite it being a glorious morning. The a la carte restaurant was good but could be better (both in terms of design and ambiance, as well as quality of the menu) to match the quality of the whole hotel.

This hotel has seen better days. General maintenance is desperately needed. The brochure in my room was very old. Our bed base had a hole in it. There was only one teaspoon in my room. The mini bar is very basic. This is a beautiful location. The golf course is top notch. The staff is very friendly. For what I paid for my stay, I must say I accepted more of my room. Not good value for money.

Overall amazing

Pleasant stay, very secure grounds (which include private residences and a golf links). Good menu and service, good facilities. Although situated far from a major road, the road noise was profound when one opened the sliding door for fresh air - a constant traffic roar throughout the night.

The stay was enjoyable. However, we found a wasps next under the balustrade of our balcony. My wife is extremely allergic to bee and wasp stings and this distressed her quite a bit.

Overall stay was pleasant our door closure was broken upon arrival but was fixed very quickly. Disappointed in Hotel.com for not requesting with the hotel about my request

The hotel has a fantastic golf course and has views to kill for - unfortunately the hotel itself is "tired" and is in need of renovations especially the rooms. Although there are some staff are very good, the majority are sulky and appear to be disinterested in their jobs. We have been going there for several years now but only for the golf - the hotel has been deteriorating every year - now that Marriot Hotels is involved we expect that things will improve. Only time will tell!

Good experience apart from dealings with Reception and room condition. Room first. There were no bath towels and one floor lamp had no bulb ('elf and safety issue in the UK). Reception. They did not do what they said they were going to do. Re. the towels, I telephoned twice and visited Reception once to get towels and they eventually arrived 2hours 20 mins. later. Meantime, my wife dried herself on the towelling robe! I asked Reception if we could extend our departure time. They said they would speak with the Duty Manager and phone me. This didn't happen so later on our departure day I went to Reception, saw the Duty Manager myself and agreed a time with him.
