Bahia Principe Explore Coba - All Inclusive

The hotel complex and grounds are very well kept and attractive. The pool areas are lovely but the main pool was spoiled for me because music was constantly playing. Thank goodness for the tranquil jacuzzi pools area where you can get peace and quiet. There's entertainment at night in the main terrace area but again the volume is turned up to maximum so forget talking! The staff are very friendly and helpful and the rooms are fantastic. We had a junior suite. The food is very good but it's difficult to find availability in the specialist restaurants. We did get some bookings and the restaurants were half empty when they showed on the booking system as full. Weekends can be crowded with locals so there were long queues for drinks at peak times. The range and quality of drinks were good. It's nice to see the wildlife wandering round the grounds.

We had a two week holiday booked at the Coba, we were informed 12 months before arriving that the resort was being split between an adult only and main resort, we should have asked to be moved to the Tequila resort then as its refurbished and much quieter! Hindsight is a wonderful thing. When we arrived we were allocated a room in block 18b this isn’t far from the highway and you can hear road noise, the junior suite is the standard room ! And are showing their age now but it was clean and serviced daily to a good standard. The buffet restaurant has a good selection however it is very large and can become loud at peak times. The a la carte restaurants are very good but need booking in advance via the app. The pool is very warm due to being shallow and is showing signs of disrepair. At weekends there was very large influxes of local party goers and families on short breaks; they caused a lot of disruption with large speakers and there were also drunken altercations for which the security staff were very poor when dealing with this. Maybe allowing people to fill two pint thermal mugs with alcohol isn’t the best idea, they managed to imbibe all the pool bar alcohol ! If you are a couple consider the Tequila or Tulum resorts as they are worth the extra, the Coba is as described budget and family friendly!

I been there so many times, but this time it was very disappointing Food and drinks quality not good Entertainment very basic.

I have been coming to Bahia Principe Grand Coba almost every year since 2017 (except during COVID), and unfortunately my experience has continued to decline year after year. I am also a Privilege Club member, and based on my personal experience, I highly discourage anyone from purchasing this membership. During the sales process, they make many promises and treat you exceptionally well to convince you to buy. However, once you become a member, you are mostly left on your own. I paid close to $13,000 for this membership and honestly feel there has been very little value in return. What made this experience even more disappointing was the extremely poor customer service from the Privilege Club representatives when calling their 800 number. Instead of helping loyal members, some representatives were rude, dismissive, unwilling to listen, and lacked professionalism. When I requested to speak with a manager regarding my concerns, I was refused. That is not how long-term loyal customers should be treated. The resort itself has also seen noticeable declines over the years: Food quality has significantly decreased compared to previous visits. Some rooms are outdated and in need of renovation. Large portions of the beach are inaccessible because of seaweed, and the areas that are accessible are very rocky. That said, I want to be fair and recognize the incredible local staff in Cancun. The employees working directly at the resort are truly amazing. They are friendly, hardworking, always smiling, and consistently go above and beyond to provide the best service possible. The staff is honestly one of the few reasons many guests continue returning. Unfortunately, my latest experience was the final straw. While trying to book what would have been my 8th family vacation to Bahia Coba, I had an extremely frustrating interaction with a representative named Raynnell from the payment department. The way the situation was handled left me deeply disappointed and frustrated as a loyal customer. After nearly eight years of loyalty and bringing my family of four to this resort repeatedly, I ultimately decided to cancel my vacation and book with another resort instead. I am sharing this review because future travelers deserve transparency before making an expensive commitment like the Privilege membership.

OK. An honest review ! This hotel has just been renovated and is lovely ! The staff are courteous and work very hard indeed ! The grounds are first class , room is very nice and we were lucky to have a pool view which was great ! Ala Carts all lovely and we enjoyed them all however book them before you travel on the app or face eating at 9pm if at all !! Shuttles to the Coba beach area are easy to just grab one at the lobby and always a sunbed at the beach and a beach bar to boot ! The Coba section of the beach is very nice though we didn’t spend much time there as it’s not the best beach with the seaweed issue but we expected that and hey ho it’s not the Maldives! Still nicer than Blackpool lol and it’s still the Caribbean sea after all ! HOWEVER there is a major problem here … understaffed , weekends are terrible, the local folk arrive in big numbers and the staff can’t cope due to lack of resources, half the buffet/ dinner restaurant is closed off meaning queues of unhappy people trying to get in waiting in blistering heat outside … shambles , and the bars are the same , big queues all day . I understand Hyatt have taken over and they must have reduced the staff to save money which is poor management! People are getting irritated and tempers getting raised . Staff are running round like lunatics and the animation team singing and dancing when really they could help a bit , i felt like mucking in ! So would i come again, sorry no , not until the management get a grip and do their job !

Estruturas muita antigas com rachas visiveis, quarto cheirava a mofo, sem peacaba nem bidé, banheira na casa de banho em vez de duche, o varao da varanda partido, a comida sempre igual pouca variedade de comida tudo à base de frango e porco sem vaca, as bebidas incluidas todas falsas, a praia é cheia de pedras e muita baixinha de profundidade a praia ao lado esquerdo perto do Hotel Tulum era boa, cheira mal a caminho da praia pois ha uma etar ai, equipamento de quarto muito antigo, nao tem elevadores. A piscina tem poucas sombras em relação ao numero de pessoas. Os resturantes para reservar sao maus. O resturante asiatico e nao japones e fraco, o gourmet tinha sopas instantâneas e pouca variedade. O wifi no quarto e em geral é de fraca qualidade. Os canais não funcionam bem. Nao substituiram o gel duche.

1st time in Mexico. We love Cuba and tend to travel there and been to DR as well. I was really impressed by how nice and hospitable the staff were. This property is kept very clean. Rooms were clean. Always lots to eat at buffet with lots of variety. Drinks were good, cold and plentiful. Beach was ok but we only spent an afternoon there. We travelled as a family of 4 with young kids. It really exceeded my expectations. We found this to be a very good value for the price. Would go back.

This was our 14th visit at Coba and although the loyalty program ended we decided to give it another try and we’re not disappointed. The staff are amazing and make the experience wonderful. The rooms were clean and the food excellent. For à la cartes we went to Portofino and it was delicious, Gourmet as great as last time. First time at the new Smoked restaurant and it was definately worth the visit. The entertainment team at the pool is as fantastic as ever. Special shout out to Antonio and Ronaldo. These two make you feel special, and wouldn’t have been the same without them. Alfredo at the night buffet is the best, he has actually been serving us all 14 years. If you go ask for his section; you won’t be disappointed . We will for sure return next year. We make sure we provided this feedback to Alejandro, a manager there who cares about what we had to say.
