Shumba Valley Lodge Lanseria Airport

It was fantastic, props to the manager, I forgot his name, I think is Oscar great guy. Thanks to him and Moses, I enjoyed my stay, I'll visit soon

Tried out this place for a mini weekend getaway - despite all the negative reviews. Feelings are a bit mixed. As it was a dad/son weekend, besides the incredibly noisy and drunk people at the pool there is sadly nothing to do for kids. This place is a great stopover if your'e catching a flight perhaps the next day, airport is next door. A couple of thatched chalets on a piece of ground next to the road. Doesn't have any kind of 'valley' or 'lodge' feel. Arrived at 3pm and room was not ready (check in is at 2pm). 30mins later we were given another room instead of the one allocated to us. Room seemed to be clean and well appointed but had no towels. Walked down to reception to notify them and was told it would be sorted out soon. Kid went for a bit of a swim and even though I asked for a swim towel 30 minutes earlier I had to go back to reception to beg them for a towel after. Staff didn't seem too concerned. Got back to the room around 6pm from the pool and still no towels. Called reception and another 30mins later 2 fresh white fluffy bath towels arrived. No hand towels or floor towel. Next day we left for the entire day as there is nothing to do here, arrived in the evening, towels were replenished but his time grey and stained, as most previous guests seemed to point out. Can't understand why they don't bleach them? Other than that the stay was overall pleasant. Note if you have kids don't come here expecting any activities. This place is merely a stopover/conference venue.

We were inforinformed on check in day that the room we had booked a few weeks ago was no longer available as some happened.That was very disappointing, but overall a cool place.

The rooms are large and comfortable, the breakfasts are excellent and the staff very helpful. The bathroom had a shower and bath and plenty of room we would stay here again, close to Lanseria Airport.

The place isn’t cleane - dust under the bed, shower window not clean - dirt on corners of the room I wrote a note about stained towels and bed sheets - I received fresh towels with stains and the sheets weren’t changed. It has the potential but lacks the attention to detail

I stayed here years ago and was top of the range So I was nostalgic only to find that it's really gone done Breakfast terrible like a 2star hotel I wouldn't return

We went for a family weekend out. There was a problem with the booking, I’m not sure if that was the hotel or hotels.com. We booked for 3 adults and were given a king size bed. Luckily we called before and it was corrected but they still only provided cups and linen for 2 people. We shared towels. Phone wasn’t working as security had tried to call us to check up on booking in. He at least came to see. Lady at reception was very friendly. Buffet dinner wasn’t great but breakfast was really good and the lady frying eggs was very welcoming. 1 bed was very concave. Loud neighbors playing music full blast from their car, should have been asked to be considerate by the hotel staff. Pleasant stay but not sure how it was 4 star rated.

Just an overnight stay but worthit!

Cleaniness and quality of room for a 4* was very poor. Initial Room -bedding was torn,Teelphone did not work for room service, curtain rail fell apart and the sliding door was not secure. Reception therafter moved us to a new room where we found that the aircon had poured out with water onto the floor while we were having dinner. We ordered meat Platter for 2- did not have all the meat n it...we thereafter called the chef he said he was out of stock on chicken wings and cheesegrillers which were suppose to be on the platter. the pool area was of appalling , chairs were broken, tables were not clean, had to ask waiter to wipe it. the lodge needs to look into lots in order to be rated a 4*
