Fire Mountain Lodge

Overall this was a good rental. Great location, like ts of space and excellent views. The only down side is the cleanliness was a bit sporadic. Old food found on the ground makes me wonder how often the place is vacuumed.

We thought a one night getaway and a hike in Kananaskis would be a great way to recharge and refresh - bring and cook our own food, safe and easy. The hike was amazing. The experience at Fire Mountain was not. We have stayed here for many years and the property is badly in need of a renewal, and we knew that. Our unit 208 had missing stair spindles, toilet that needed two hands to flush, chips and scuffs and lots of basic run down issues. But it was dirty. And in this environment, nothing could have been worse. Hair on the couch (we put down towels), carpet not vacuumed, kitchen counter smeared, fridge dirty, windows we couldn't see through. A long disappointing list. An apologetic voice on the other end of the phone said we'd be contacted by management - we have not been. Completely understandable that cleaning staff may be unavailable and that things are not as they should be yet. Solution? Don't rent out rooms and make people who are already nervous feel unclean and unsafe. This was bad, and handled badly- by not being handled at all.

The property was fine . It was a little worn and not super clean. The stairs weren’t vacuumed and baseboards needed a wipe. Handy location though and fine. Not luxurious.

Huge deck although we didn’t use it because of the season. Great kitchen supplies. Parking is a little tight but not much you can do about that. Honestly great place; great value and location.

The layout of the suite was nice, however it appeared that the suite was not totally cleaned. The floor was sticky in places and the carpet was dirty in places. Also some of the mirrors were not cleaned. There was also a sock in the sofa bed and the sheets looked like them might not have been cleaned. Although other things did look clean like the fridge and the tub. It was like they cleaned it in a hurry so they missed things. There was also a bunch of laundry on the floor in the washer and dryer room which made them inaccessible. There was also no pillows for the sofa bed . It was definitely lower class, probably why it was cheaper then other places. Check in communication was good, however I had emailed them with some questions before arriving about the room and they responded giving misinformation about the set up if the room and thus, it was not what we expected. I would not stay there again.

We loved the place. It is nice and very clean. We found everything we needed including salt and pepper. Thanks for owners and employees. One thing can be improved, the parking should be designated based on unit number with a sign “ Park to Share”. Also check in time could be improved to an early afternoon after discussion with client. The condo is very nice, the lock to get in is a little confusing. Could not get the cable TV to work in the bedrooms.
