Not clean,window broken let wind in and cold.Main lights did not come on.

Great breakfast and staff were good too

No remote in room Card key didnt work on sunday Air con fell apart monday

Bedford Mercure Hotel is in a great position on the river in the town centre. Park the car , remembering at this time it’s £7 per day, and walk. Ask for a room on the river side it’s a bit quieter. Good breakfast and you can watch the rowers from the boat house next door. There are paths along both sides and on the hotel side there is a cafe with Viking boats for hire. We visited Duxford Air Museum with our 7 year old Grandson. He had a great time. Lots of planes flying brilliant. It was a heatwave and the air con could not cope we have water running out of the unit. The hotel could do with a bit of TLC and will probably get it in the next few years due to Universal Studios creating a park nearby.

Spider and spider webs near window in room. Bathroom doors all damaged and looked rough. Quilt cover had rips in. A few things that just made the stay feel very cheap/poor.

I had 2 rooms in your Bedford hotel last night and paid an additional premium for one of them to be available on an early check in so my wife would have plenty of time to check in and prepare for a 2 pm appointment. Having spoken to my wife and daughter today (they were in separate rooms), I understand the service they received was not what I consider to be acceptable on the following basis. Allocated room 39 power did not work reported to reception but could not be fixed. No towels in the room either. Told to go back to reception then allocated room 41 this was time consuming and meant the whole point of having an early check in was lost. During the night and in the morning room 41 lost its electricity again which also meant the air conditioning did not work on a very hot evening, they had to shower in the dark and could not make a hot drink.

Location was great Staff were great, always helpful When I asked for a fridge they brought me one as the twin rooms don’t always have a fridge. Carpet had a really big stain on it. The facilities were good. It was quiet and peaceful. Lifts for room access Easy to go out to walk around town. Will be back again

The fire alarm going off in middle of the night but accept that’s out if everyone’s control . No emergency in end.
