"Good"

The hotel room and the staff were great. However, the attached restaurant didn’t have any food so was shut. The diners around the place were shut on a Tuesday or took cash only. In the end I bought a jar of Nutella and bread to make dinner. The gym while functional was very dated. The general impression I got was that sheerness is a very low income area.

"Good"

This was so bad I rebooked hotel and are fighting for a refund which you guys are meant to be chasing it up I had blood mould and dirty marks all over the pillows and I had a hole in the bath which was sharp it was all dirty in the bath toilet roll holder hanging off the wall it’s unacceptable for £180

"Great for the price"

Pros: Clean and tidy, good value. Cons: double bed mattress a little thin, our family room overlooked the bar area (but thankfully no one was partying that night), and no breakfast included. Overall a decent no frills stay.

"Three star don't think so."

we stayed in the same room (3) last October so most of these observations are the same as then. Bathroom, mould in shower tray, handle missing from inside of shower door, toile roll holder broken just a screw sticking out, towel rail would be nice to be able to reuse towels cupboard door needs replaced, Bedroom, mirror light not working, only one bed side cabinet, no bed side lights. mismatched cups, walls full of holes, large fan was supplied but it was filthy, and lack of sockets, bedding was clean but marked, tv remote not working tv held in cabinet with 4 exposed screws, door closers need adjustment need to be superman to open the door. Bar, prices are extortionate and canned beer (john smiths) same round over the road (draught john smiths) £5 cheaper, breakfast buffet was well stocked unlike last October, but still no chef we have family experience of four visits over the past 3 years and there as never been a chef, so no cooked breakfast available. in the early morning before doors are opened there is a musty smell. The purpose of our visits was to see family, and this visit a bereavement so we no longer need to visit. Thank goodness.

"Don’t even £50 would be expensive!"

The initial welcome and check-in was underwhelming. No real service, enthusiasm or seemed interest. We arrived later than we’d hoped, to be told the restaurant shut at 8, so wouldn’t be able to get food. Told when breakfast was & about 24hr access door as reception would be shut. Got back to room after being out, to find bed was broken on one side. No one around to mention it too, so slept at opposite end of bed, so feet were at the head board, also on the downward slope (rather than head). Following morning, no one was in the restaurant to greet & no cooked food was on offer. The continental breakfast consisted of a warm/cold drink options, yogurt, toast (brown or white), ham &/or cheese triangle…that looked sweaty or not fresh. The toaster doesn’t toast. The coffee was weak, a yogurt had mould inside the seal upon opening. When explaining/ complaining to the maitre de/ receptionist about dirty bowls and the breakfast there was no apology, a short response which was followed by muttering under his breath. When complaint was then officially given for room & breakfast (with photos), and asked if we could be moved to another room, we were informed that he had to talk to his manager. When we returned later that morning we were told we had to email the manager, I then asked for the email address & was told to use the hotel address to raise complaints. We were on the island for a wedding & were not the only one to have a negative experience!!

"Lacking basic housekeeping "

Stayed 2 nights with a friend for a wedding on the island. I really wanted the bad reviews to be wrong and to redress the balance but sadly not. Hanging baskets go there to die clearly, as there are 8 or more of them hanging from rusty hangers outside, just by taking them down the hotel would look a bit better!! Check in was at 2. But on arrival at 2.10 the room was not ready and was still being “cleaned”. We told the man on reception that it wasn’t a problem and that we would come back later after getting a bite to eat. We returned around 5 pm to the man on reception and the man from the gym watch my friend and 1 struggle through the door with suitcases and wedding attire and various bags. We were given no instructions just handed a key, room 18. The bedding was crisp and clean, but that’s as far as it went on the positive. An old kettle base, hardwired into the wall was left hanging and another kettle with base was placed next to it. Inside drawers littered with used cotton wool, grit, dust etc, had to clean before we could put our clothes in. Carpet stained, blur toothpaste on wall, questionable brown stain on wall, bath panel disintegrated, panel missing from wardrobe, no information book, no idea what time breakfast was, radiator rusted, taps spin around independently and drip constantly, water damage everywhere. If you are having the very basic breakfast, leave plenty of time as the archaic toaster takes forever.

"Good"

I suppose you get what you pay for. This place was cheap and you don't really get much for the price. The rooms need a lot of work (old furniture, bathrooms from the 80's, TV's don't work etc.). It wasn't helped by the fact that they didn't have a chef so the only restaurant in town was therefore shut and breakfast was continental only. The pub over the road (Castle Inn) was good though and the barman in the hotel bar was nice.

"Terrible place to stay"

Terrible place to stay, would not recommend The hotel was terrible and very dated, the beds were so awful it gave me back ache, not to mention I felt that I wasn't the only living in the room. BOTH of my rooms where noisy in need of some major repairs there was mould in the bathrooms and just overall a bad hotel room even if it's for one night, I would not recommend! sleeping in the car it would have been better. Moved hotel and lost money but at least got some sleep.

"Rowdy guests, unclean room, liar staff"

Anti social guests and poor room, booked a room for a wedding on the 5th of March, we came in and dropped off our bags before leaving to go back out (about 10mins), the room smelt of smoke & there was a sweet wrapper from the previous guest on the side. My partner had a bad feeling about the room so luckily he stopped drinking. When we got back we were met at the door by a girl shouting down the phone, she followed us round the 24 access door and we were met with another male guest. We went into our room & the guy said at least you're not in room 3 it stinks of sewage - the 2 guests then decided to have a screaming match as they had lost their room key & there were no staff on site to assist. This went on for about 20minutes and got louder & more aggressive until we decided to leave before it became unsafe. We quickly bundled our stuff in bags and hurried to the car as to not bump into them. We were not able to leave the key on the reception desk or in the room for fear that our room would be accessed & we would be blamed for any damage. We returned in the morning (did not have our breakfast which was included) & complained to the member of staff who advised that there were several complaints about it, there was also a road sign outside that had been smashed to bits, we requested a refund & she asked the manager Sasha to call us. The manager called & advised that if we wanted a refund we would need to go through hotels.com – we did & when they contacted the hotel they only au
