Hotel Girasole

We visited sorrento for 7 nights as a family of 5. Myself and my husband, 19 year old daughter, 17 year old son and 12 year old daughter. Due to our family size we needed separate room. My son has health conditions, and I felt a ground floor room would be safer. I emailed the hotel directly, and they accommodated us perfectly. Our rooms all perfect with the Italian charm. Each room even has a fridge. All members of the team at the hotel girasole were welcoming and extremely helpful. Food and drinks are very good. Pizza at the pool bar is excellent for my children. The pool was amazing, very well looked after. There was no struggling to find a sun lounger even when arriving late in the day. Sorrento is a short walk from the hotel around 15 minutes I was pleased not to be in the centre itself as it is really busy. Some nice bars and restaurants around the hotel also. We had the best holiday. Couldn't have asked for anything more.

This is a basic hotel just outside of sorrento , a short walk in. It's an old hotel, but is kept clean and does the job. The pool area is a very short walk off the back of the hotel but not really a problem. The hotel seemed to be only half full, if that, when we were there, which seemed odd for high season, so it was very quiet. The staff were excellent, friendly and attentive, and the food was fine (we just had breakfast and snacks around the pool) and very reasonably priced. The views of vesuvius from the balconies were amazing. The only issue I had was how quiet the place was, there's no entertainment of any kind, not even a radio on around the pool. Most evenings I popped down the bar after going out for dinner and was often the only person there. This may well suit some people! A good enough base, I would say, but not really a hotel that forms part of your holiday experience.

We booked this hotel for our three night stay in Sorrento. It's a short walk from the train station and city centre which is handy. The walk is flat and if you stick to the hotel side on the left is less perilous than the opposite side. The hotel appears to be an old traditional hotel that probably hasn't changed much over the years. The rooms were very basic, the shower small but okay. Our room 35, had a lovely balcony overlooking the bay and the mountains. Sadly there wasn't much privacy between the adjoining balconies. The biggest issue with the room were the ants, they were everywhere. With this hotel you also get access to the swimming pool which was very much needed in the afternoon. There's a small snack bar aswell for beer and snacks. Plenty of sun beds. The breakfast was on offer but not that impressive. If you're after a hotel that offers you a hotel close to the centre and a pool for the afternoon heat. This is definitely the one.

Literally just returned from a lovely week at this lovely hotel. Family run and traditional in style it is absoloutley lovely The whole hotel is spotless, we had clean bed sheets and towels everyday Being half board we ate the lovely home made traditional Italian food every night The pool area is lovely and set in lovely gardens , again spotless in and around the pool with a great little snack bar Always plenty of sun beds and parasols Can’t say enough good things about this little gem One thing to mention, do yourself a favour and book a room at the back of the hotel overlooking the garden and Vesuvius ,we were in number 33 and it was lovely the front is on a very busy road that never stops The only thing missing which would be great is tea & coffee making facilities in the room . The lack of them didn’t spoil a thing the whole stay was lovely Thank you
