Filoxenia Hotel Zakynthos

We are just at the airport and couldn't wait to leave our review. Just one word AMAZING. We stayed in a deluxe room and have to say never stayed in such an amazing room. Coffee maker, fluffy dressing gowns. The room was amazing. The cleaners were in everyday, cleaning leaving fresh towels complimentary bottle of water. The bar and restaurant staff were so friendly and extremely helpful always had a smile on their faces. The gentleman who drove us to beach ⛱️ as and when we needed it was so friendly and kind. We thought the food was amazing too and we were there for 14 nights, we only missed one evening dinner as we were out for the day. We can't thank all the staff including reception staff the chefs and just everyone for an absolute amazing holiday - thank you 😀. Teresa and Martin Osborne

Just returned from the filoxenia after spending 10 nights there. There was 11 of us in total, 6 adults and 5 kids ranging in age from 2 to 9. All of us were allocated in the older part of the hotel. Regarding our room (2 bedroom family room) it was dated, but completely acceptable. Everything you need for an all inclusive stay such as fridge, kettle, seating area, 2 massive bedrooms and balconies with pool view rooms to boot. The room was cleaned every day to a high standard. Drinks were ok, shame there was no ready made cocktail options, but I suppose ouzo and sprite is a greek cocktail🤣. We spent half the time round the older side pool and half the newer side pool and preferred the newer side. The food was really good on the whole, breakfast was lovely, lunch the same and tea was great. A good variety at each sitting. The greek night on a Wednesday was our favourite! As good as the restaurants in town. The hotel is situated a little out of town, however it's only 1km to paradise bar (if you have been to tsilivi you know). If you are fit and well it's a steady 10/15 minutes, we did this with kids and pushchairs. If you do struggle walking there is a shuttle bus that goes into town regularly throughout the day. A couple of kids in our party left Thier iPad and switch unknowingly at the bar one evening. The next day we received a call asking us to attend reception to get said items that a bar man retrieved, opened and found the name of who it belonged to and matched it with the booking name. Anyone with kids can appreciate this was a lifesaver. This is a reflection and testimont to the staff that work at the filoxenia. Thank you for a great stay

We have just returned. Had a great time at Filoxenia. First of all the staff are fantastic, this makes the hotel. We had a family room for three adults, two q een size beds and a single. We had plenty of room. Shower really good. Cleaned daily by a lovely lady. The only problem was the safe you had to get on your knees to open it, luckily we had someone who could do it. We were on the ground floor in the old building. Apart from safe we had no problems. We found the food very good you could always find something to eat. The hotel is a bit far out and in the heat difficult to walk but there are plenty of taxis at 8-10 Euros or the horse drawn carrige at 20 Euros. Overall we had a great time and would go back again.

Reception area very welcoming, clean & cool. All staff very friendly . Stayed in a 2 bedroom apartment that had not been renovated , read reviews beforehand so were apprehensive. Nothing to worry about , rooms cleaned every day . Only minus was the air con, ours never came on late afternoon only in the morning . Hotel in two parts, one side has been renovated . We were the old part but near the kids pool and restaurant. Food was a large selection , plenty of fruit, salad, meats etc children’s food was limited and could be better . Entertainment limited , shame nothing for children . Main resort 25 minute walk, plenty of bars , restaurants & lovely beach . Would recommend, if I came back I’d like to be in a renovated room .

Check-in on arrival was easy. Just had to fill a form in and pay for tourist tax. We were shown to our room and I knew instantly we were not in the new block as we walked past it. As we entered the room it was not as advertised (see photos for view). We booked a pool view. The beds were so hard like sleeping on the floor. In the bathroom every time we shower water/bubbles would come up through the drain in the floor. Food - breakfast was great. Lunch and dinner was very hit and miss. Nothing specifically for children. We went out for dinner 3 times so our son would actually eat something. Drinks - it's what you get in AI. Cocktails you have to pay for. Air conditioning comes on twice a day - 7am-11am, 4pm-7pm. We paid €10 a day to have it all the time. Pools - we only used one and it was lovely. The staff are great. We were told by another guest that when they complained about their room they were told no family rooms have been updated but we passed them in newer block. Another was apparently told, "You get what you pay for. If you want a better room you should have booked a deluxe room." Would I stay again? NO. But would definitely go back to Zakynthos.

Just had the best time, at Filoxenia Hotel. Staff are amazing, very helpful and friendly. The shuttle bus is very good, everyday, that takes you into Tsilivi. The rooms are cleaned, everyday. Food is very nice. Great breakfast. Taxis are very good. Will definitely be going back.

Nice enough hotel didn’t think it was 4 star, food was hit an miss not a great variety to be fare . Rooms ok ours was very clean thanks to the lovely lady who cleans them . Most staff friendly , about a 20 min walk in to town which we knew so that was ok . Probably wouldn’t go back .

We have just returned from a 10 day stay at the Filoxenia and wish we could have stayed longer! We had 2 x delixe rooms in the newer side of the building which were brilliant. The hotel is kept really clean and the staff are friendly, helpful and entertaining. A particular shout out to the bar staff who were great fun! The food was lovely every day, could always find something to enjoy. The only one thing that I think we would have liked to know before our trip was that the air con is not accessible 24/7. We couldn’t sleep without it and therefore paid additional fees to have this. We were happy to pay for it but it would have been better to have known about this before our stay. Overall an excellent holiday and we would love to go back. Thank you Filoxenia

After reading some of the reviews before going we were sceptical, first time going with a group of friends yes we did leave our partners behind 😁 we were after relaxation and a chilled time. On arrival we were given a room in the older part of the hotel a 2 room / mini apartment this was clean and spacious! I think in future we would like the newer hotel side. The service at the resort is great the staff are very friendly and helpful Both pools and pool areas were spotless and didn’t come across the broken tiles previously mentioned in other comments. We can honestly say we didn’t have a bad meal all week ! There is a lot of variety which is constantly topped up and fresh ! Don’t get me started on the dessert these were unbelievable! The beach is a short walk away and we did this often but on occasions got the hotel mini bus There is a supermarket and local bar just 5 mins away The resort is surrounded by olive trees and is lush and green One negative was noise from road but can’t hear when doors are closed in rooms, also believe aircon should come as standard and not extra charge? Would we come back definitely yes ! Thanks to all the staff that made our stay brilliant !

First off it’s nowhere near a 4* hotel,it’s a 2* but you’ll pay 10 euros per night in tourist tax. We stayed in room 107 which is in the old part of the hotel which has a continuous smell of damp as it’s on the ground level and hardly gets any sunlight.The beds are so hard you might as well sleep on the floor.The base of the 3rd bed ( which is made of fabric ) had actually been painted with gloss paint to try to hide the mould.Asked for a replacement room to the newly built section but was told the hotel was at full capacity ( it wasn’t,they just couldn’t be bothered).The cleaning lady was very efficient and friendly,in fact all the staff were excellent except a young lady on reception who wouldn’t let us change rooms or give us the password to one of the other guest wifi network.The wifi is terrible by the way as all the guests are on the same channel. The food was surprisingly very good and always found a good selection to choose from. Even though the kids should have been at school,the hotel was over run with them.Now I know the hotel manager is going to read this so I suggest you make one of the pool areas for adults only and the other pool for families and change the mattresses to softer ones,how many reviews is it going to take before you take notice?
