The Windermere Rooms at The Wateredge Inn, Ambleside

The breakfast was a very good selection of cooked food and continental . Our room was clean, comfortable and in good condition, the staff were great , the location is perfect , value for money spot on and we would definitely stay again

The location is perfect. A great base for exploring the local areas. Right on the water with fantastic views. Staff were brilliant as was the food.

Expensive for the facilities.

Stayed here for three nights, 23 - 26 May, while visiting the Lake District and overall had a positive experience. The location was excellent, with lovely views near the lake, and the staff were consistently courteous and helpful throughout the stay. Parking and check-in were straightforward, and the room itself appeared generally well maintained during the stay, with housekeeping attending daily. Breakfast was included and was a standard pub-style full English, tea, coffee, yogurt, fruit, toast, etc. The evening food was fine for what it was, although the menu was fairly limited and very traditional pub fare. The only significant issue was that we experienced an ant problem in Room 31, which was a ground-floor room facing the street. It started with a few ants appearing around the bedding and pillows, and on the final evening there was a much larger trail of ants in the bathroom around the wall near the toilet. As it was late at night, I chose not to call staff to the room or have chemicals sprayed while we were staying there, and instead dealt with it as best I could myself. To be clear, I wasn’t looking for compensation or a refund, and initially contacted the property privately simply to make them aware of the issue so it could be investigated for future guests. I also appreciate that there was an ongoing heatwave during the stay, which may have contributed. Aside from the ant issue, the stay itself was enjoyable and the staff were genuinely pleasant. I simply think the room should be checked properly so the issue does not continue for future guests.

Our room was right on the main road front. The low windows made the noise of traffic vibrate in the room, especially large vehicles.
