Ambassador Hotel

The only annoying thing is that the visa processing fee by all other hotels is included in the price agreed at the start, but with this hotel they add it on as a separate item. This is a bit misleading when comparing the quotes with other hotels as you are paying $15 or son more at this hotel than you think.

Superb hotel !

We stayed 3 nights and it was very comfortable, clean and quiet. Before arriving the hotel was very efficient in assisting me with papers for my tourist visa, and on arrival and during the stay the service continued to be great. Free wifi in the rooms - worked for us!

Nice Friendly staff and nice overall experience. This is my second stay at this hotel in the past year and it meets the basic needs in a clean environment. Sennaya square is very close, a 7 minute walk. St. Isaac's Cathedral is 10 minute walk. Nevskiy Prospect (Avenue) is 25 minute walk. Hermitage is 30 minute walk. Staff all speak English with the exception of the cleaning staff. They are helpful when asked. Check out is easy. This is not a 5 star hotel, but for the money, it is an excellent value if you are willing to stay off of Nevskiy Prospect.....

Perfect hotel room, good service, pleasant staff. The hotel is not exactly central, but it's five minutes from a subway station that is only one or at most two stops from all the main tourist attractions. And there's an advantage to being in a relative quiet location across the street from a large park. The only negative is that the hotel provides no à la carte breakfast options. A $25 breakfast buffet, no matter how elegant, is not what you want when your idea of breakfast is a cup of coffee and a roll. But there is a restaurant up the street where you can get a cup of coffee and a croissant.

Everything about the hotel itself is fabulous, just note that the surrounding areas can be a bit eerily quiet after 10 PM. Planning on using cabs is a good idea if you're out late at night, but given the reasonable price of this hotel, its price plus cab fare is still a far better deal than a hotel on bustling Nevsky.

This was an excellent hotel with a lot of western style amenities. Staff was courteous and efficient. The hotel and rooms were very clean and comfortable. The hotel was a little further from the metro than I expected, but still within walking distance.
