Hamlet Downs is an idyllic farm owned by a friendly couple who are passionate about food and guest service. Trish is a multiple award winner at the Royal Show in Hobart for her small goods and other creations. She translates this every evening into gourmet meals served to her guests at modest cost. Trish and Steve are very welcoming, but serve the guests in their own suites and leave them to enjoy their privacy and the ambience of the surroundings.

Hamlet Downs offers very comfortable and enjoyable farm stay accommodation in the midst of magical countryside.. It is great value.

We stayed here in June in a double room with country view (the best room there for 2 people in my opinion). The room had an attached kitchen and an enclosed patio which was probably the feature we liked most. We had our meals there and could enjoy the view of the hillside as we did so. Our hosts Trish and Steve were superb - friendly and warm and saw to all our needs. The decanter of port on arrival was most welcome in winter! We had dinner there and it was excellent. Do take the time to walk up the hillside which is part of their extensive property. You will get to see their cute farm animals!

Location and the peaceful country surrounds. Great view from the sunroom, comfortable bed. Polite and friendly owners.

Kitchen area a bit small.

Breakfast was as ordered and very nice. Thanks also for providing an earlier breakfast than usual on the Sunday morning

Interesting period property with all necessary facilities & close to Mt Field NP - could wander around the farm, pick wild blackberries & enjoy the ready to heat prepared meals purchased from the owners.
