Herzen House

Very basic, including breakfast. No luxury at all. But excellent location. The personnel is very friendly and helpful.

Herzen House is a small hotel, but ideally located within walking distance of many of the popular tourist sites of the city. Staff were particularly helpful and spoke English. The room was comfortable and air conditioned. The only fault was the rather minimalist breakfast, but otherwise Herzen Hotel is highly recommended for a short stay.

Excellent deal in the heart of St. Petersburg. The staff was extremely helpful. I had a minor issue with my shower - which was resolved immediately. The breakfast was not fancy - but there was plenty of it! Hotel entrance is well secured with doors opening straight onto a busy street without having to go through any poorly lit 'podvorotnya' as is the case with some other budget hotels in the area. Metro is literally 2 minutes away though most tourist sites are within walking distance. Very quiet. Will stay again and recommend to others.

This was truly an excellent hotel if you do not require a 5 star hotel. All of the hotel staff was so Professionally trained. All of the staff were fluent in English and giving any guidence I requested was their pleasure to assist. The hotel location could not have been better.Just a 5 to 10 minute walk to most major sites. I would stay here again.

Different to an English hotel as it's on the 4th floor in a multi occupied building. We thought it was great, very clean and tidy, exceptionally helpful staff. As for the location it was great - walking distance to all the main things you go to St Petersburgh for. Would we go again? Too right we would.

We did wonder where we'd arrived at first because the hotel is located on the 4th floor of what appears to be an apartment of office block. However it was very clean and tidy, the staff were really helpful and recommended a lovely steak house and gave us wine vouchers to use. It was so centrally located that we could walk everywhere!
