Mata Rocks Resort

Beautiful property, great host, bar staff and cook were great.

I liked the location of this property. Nice beach front with loungers and straw umbrella huts to get out of the sun. The pool was nice. The restaurant and bar tenders were very good. The service was excellent. The room was good. Great ocean view and balcony deck. The bathroom sink had a little rust stain around drain. The AC unit was good as well, however, it did leak water for the first 20 minutes it turned on. We put a towel there until the room cooled down than it would stop. Overall, good stay. I would stay again

Staff was excellent.

The staff especially Ivers was phenomenal!!! He always took care of us and made us feel we were a priority. And always with a smile. Two complaints were not being told we were next to pickle ball (which started earlier than we wanted to hear). And having hair on the walls in my shower.

The staff were all very helpful, friendly and approachable. Prices were great and information and recommendations were great. Some of the issues had to do with the age of the building and it is in need of some upgrades to the WiFi and plumbing. Would have liked to have had blackout drapes and perhaps a mini fridge as well as bottled water left for us. Maid forgot to check things like Kleenex etc but we made do. Really like the place over all and will probably stay there again.

The staff were very friendly! Javi at the bar was exceptional, he was attentive and friendly!!! It’s a smaller property away from the downtown area, but only a short golf cart drive away. There is a beach area a few steps away. The only suggestion is that they update some of the towels. The towels replenished one day were extremely thin and scratchy. The room was cleaned everyday. We decided to extend our stay and the staff gathered our belongings and moved them for us. Not all rooms have a kitchenette. The WiFi does not work well inside the room but that seems to be an issue all over San Pedro.

Good thing Mata Rocks had bicycles which we enjoyed although the bearings on the pedal were shot. Bed comfortable and staff helpful. Deck furniture sadly lacking.

Cozy and cute, perfect for a few nights if you don’t want to be directly in downtown but still be able to have easy access to town if you want. What really sets Mata Rocks apart though is its amazing staff! Everyone was so kind and gave us recommendations for places to go and things to do and every single rec was incredible. Everyone was also so friendly and fun to talk to. Thank you to Ivar, Javi, Anita, Dorell, Dominique and the rest of the Mata Rocks staff for making our first time in Belize so wonderful! We will definitely be staying here again the next time we come to Ambergris Caye. Thanks again :-)

Mata Rocks is not a mega sized resort and therefore much more personal and friendly. Everyone there was great and extremely helpful. We will definitely stay there on our next trip to Belize. It is largely because of our stay at Mata Rocks that there will be a next trip to Belize.
