Gainsborough House Hotel

Rooms were clean. Staff very helpful.

Restaurant wasn't open at all other than for breakfast which we were not made aware of until we asked. Only one member of staff when we arrived. He covered the reception, bar and any other place that required assistance. Breakfast was confusing. No bacon at all, if you wanted cooked egg you had to ask for it but no notice to tell you this it was done by word of mouth from other people staying at the hotel. Very disappointing as it was my husband's 70 birthday and we ended up eating crisps (that we had in our car)in our room as there was nowhere to eat close by.

The staff were great. The rooms were lovely clean and spacious. Food was excelllent.

It was close to where we needed it. The staff were helpful and nice. The bed was clean. The shower was nice - and the water was hot straight away.

It was very basic. The doorway smelt fusty - it was fake plants and it was obvious it had not been cleaned for a long time. The bedroom smelt like cigarette smoke. Not strong but very obvious. The breakfast was very basic. The decor (especially the dining room) was just old and tired. Needed to ring a number each time we needed the reception (when we checked in and when the key card stopped working for our door) as it was obvious they couldn't afford to hire someone to man the desk. Bit of a disappointment overall, but got the job done on a budget.

The room was quite spacious for a family room.very good value for money. The perfect location for a Day in West Midland safari park just a 1/2 mile away 4 minutes door to park entrance couldn't be better. Kidderminster seven valley railway just minutes away. Staff were very polite and helpful. Don't be put off by some previous reviews.

Room was a little bit dusty on the headboard. Staff probably need more time on their schedule.. everything else was okay.

The price

Breakfast was ok, but what you pay is what you get. The outside needs a good clear up.

The breakfast was amazing well organised the room was clean and bed really comfy

There was so much noise from upstairs from 11 till about 2am was ridiculous but can be helped

I’m surprised at the reviews, it is extremely good value for money. Room was clean and comfortable and breakfast included had plenty to choose from

A cost of paint at this hotel would look 100%!
