Friendly reception staff. Broken lock on door to rooftop terrace is a security issue.

Property is in a great location. That's the best thing about it. Upon arrival thete were garbage bags everywhere, rubbish near elevator. The bed was like a rock. The pillows were very uncomfortable too. Noise from drunks in the alley didn't help either.

It’s a little grubby in places but it’s such an old building & the staff are delightful you can quickly see beyond that. We loved our stay. Prime spot for shoppers.

The location is very convenient for a short stay in Melbourne city. Staff are friendly and helpful. However the facility is quite old and damaged like the lounge, toilet and tiles, etc. the general cleaning needs to be improved. Carpet was not vaccumed. Windows are covered with dust.

Positives: close to public transport and shopping; friendly staff at reception. Cleanliness needs improvement: Stayed 7 nights and the room was only serviced twice - both times only after asking. Floors not vacuumed when I checked in or anytime during stay. Skirting boards covered in dust and previous guests' hair. Counted three mosquitos squashed on the wall of the elevator which remained there the whole week I stayed. Gross. Other comments: Air-conditioning set at 16°C but mostly blew warm air. Neighbour held a loud party one night but hotel was unstaffed in the evening and no one picked up at the after hours phone line. Probably not a bad spot if you’re staying short term and have low expectations. Anything longer than a night or two and I'd look elsewhere.

It was a serviceable stay for 2 nights over NYE. Outdoor seating area was very disappointing as it was not clean at all so it wasn't something we spent any time around. Bathroom was fine but the bed was not a "queen bed" as advertised but rather 2 single beds placed together which became rather annoying when trying to sleep. Lounge area was nice and the kitchen is basic but good for anyone making a quick meal or drink. Overall it was about a 6/10.

I believe this property has recently changed ownership/management. The condition of the apartment was appalling. Numerous holes in the carpet, broken furniture, bathroom so dirty my kids didn't want to shower, blood on the mattress protectors, broken worn out furniture on the rooftop, staff lacked knowledge, no wifi despite saying it did have which with kids was a bit annoying to say the least (they did say it was coming so this might not still be the case?). The kitchen facility was very basic at least it had a dishwasher but not dishwasher tablets/powder. Very noisy which is expected to a certain degree but a lot of traffic banks up here and a lot of horn honking and people yelling on the streets every night. The positive was the location which was brilliant. Trams very close, china town close and of course shopping close by. This might be ok for a one night stay if you are on a budget and just need somewhere to crash but I wouldn't recommend it.

Considering the rate paid for this room, the general upkeep of the interior was poor. Apart from being old, not so clean and dated, the shower leaked more water than it did shower is with it. Noticeable stains on furniture and the sofa bed needed to be left back in 1993, along with its cracked and perishing brown vinyl. Conveniently located and staff were extremely friendly.

Excellent location, you step out and you are in the centre of Melbourne, close to shops, food, public transport and other amenities. The front desk staff were very pleasant and helpful. The size of the rooms (I stayed in two rooms) was excellent, the bed was comfortable, as was the couch. Well resourced and I would happily stay again.
