1898 Waverly Inn

What a wonderful place to stay for a quick trip to Hendersonville. The moment you walk through the front door, you felt very welcomed. The staff was friendly and very accommodating. The room was spotless and the bed was very comfortable. Loved the oversized shower. Breakfast in the morning was delicious. Can’t say enough good things about this beautiful home and can’t wait to return for another stay in the future.

We loved everything about this place and will definitely be returning.

Experience Was Great and we love to State again

Everything was lovely here. Staff was extremely helpful, house was clean and we loved the original woodwork, location was perfect, social hour and breakfast were a delight. Book it!

My husband I enjoyed our stay very much. Friendly and helpful staff. Just 2 blocks from the shops and restaurants of downtown Hendersonville, and in spite of the traffic it was relatively quiet and peaceful. Easy driving distance to Pisgah, Dupont and Chimney Rock, so we were able to see a lot in the very short time we were there. We would love to go back again.

I had a fantastic stay at the 1898 Waverly Inn! Mike and Tracy were incredibly friendly and attentive hosts, making us feel right at home. Our room was spacious, comfortable, and spotlessly clean. Each morning offered a substantial breakfast with a variety of delicious choices. The historical charm of the inn, combined with its well-maintained features, added to the lovely atmosphere. We enjoyed Mike’s inviting daily happy hour, which was a great way to relax and meet other guests. The staff was friendly and accommodating, and the location was perfect—just a short walk to main street shopping and restaurants. We’re already looking forward to our next visit! Highly recommended!

Excellent location in downtown Hendersonville. Easy walk to all of main drag with all of its shops and restaurants, including the side streets. Don’t miss Dandelion Cafe. The place has 1898 in its name for a reason. Read the historical plaque in front, and ask Mike about anything. (We didn’t see Tracey, at least not that we know of) so the building is old. We stayed in the Catawba room, first floor (our request) front of the building. Interesting thing about Hendersonville traffic—while it can be noisy, our experience was that it got very quiet around 9pm and stayed that way all night. Breakfast was delightful, especially the pecan French toast. Appreciated the turkey bacon. In the evening, we missed the first happy hour as we were exploring waterfalls, but we caught it the second night. What a pleasant experience! Choices of wines or lemonade, cheese and crackers (and olives), plus the unexpected delight of conversation with Mike’s parents (locals) and his uncle and aunt. All very nice, friendly folks! Really made the happy hour! Anyways, everything in the place Is clean, bed and pillows very comfortable, responsive thermostat and mini split, great water temp and pressure in the shower (watch out for the high step into the tub but there is a handle to help), plenty of games and books if you need them, a piano (I didn’t try it), and enough free parking for all of us there these two nights. Not all that far from Asheville if you want to go. (We did). Not all that far from Chimney Rock if you want to go. (We did). Would absolutely go back!
