The Genevieve

Excellent location. Beautiful property that exceeded our expectations. Gorgeous decor, attention to detail and a 10 on the cleanliness score. Fireplaces and firepits in the garden are were a great addition. The associated restaurant, the Victor was excellent.

We LOVE coming here and have been for many years. We actually were engaged a few years ago on the property. One of the nicest places we have ever stayed - great location and staff, everything is kept beautiful and the Victor was a great add. The value for all that you get is so worth it. Enoy!

Felt luxurious, and I appreciate the cheese and wine hour, dessert hour, and breakfast that was included. Our specific hotel room was the luxe king, and it had an amazing whirlpool bathtub in the room itself, aside from the huge shower in the bathroom. We definitely plan on going again. Unfortunately the view wasnt amazing due to the homes and neighborhood around it, but thats not the hotels fault. I also wish dessert hour had more choices. There were two types of plain cookies, tea, and coffee to choose from. I'm just a chocolate gal.

This was my fourth visit to the Genevieve, and I finally got to share it with my sister and brother-in-law. They were blown away by the rooms, the property, and the food—and haven’t stopped talking about it since. Thanks for another fantastic experience.

The hotel was very nice and staff were very kind. I gave 4 stars instead of 5 because the price we paid for the hotel (including the $40 daily add on rate) was not worth the value of what we received. I feel the breakfast was very basic and could have given more options. The wine and cheese hour was the bare basics. The wineries who poured had nice representatives however, the was nothing extra to make you want to go a 2nd night. I have stayed locally for years and have had better experiences else where and paid a lot less.

In my travels in the US and Europe, I've had the good fortune to stay in a few perfect hotels. The Genevieve is one of them. We spent the night in room 206, a King suite with a fireplace and balcony. It was quiet, serene, and beautifully, if simply, appointed. Every convenience has been thoughtfully considered, including a magnifying mirror in the opulent bathroom and a Keurig coffee maker. The huge tub with jets was greatly appreciated by my tall husband! We arrived early for spa treatments, both much enjoyed. And, although we hadn't requested it, our room was ready at 2 pm after the spa. Wine in the lobby area by a cheery fireplace was delightful, as was the breakfast: bowls of fresh fruit, yogurt and granola, as well as a menu. My husband ordered the French toast, accompanied by real maple syrup (a stickler for me!) My poached eggs/chiliquitas were outstanding. We dined at the Victor - an easy walk through lovely gardens. We''ll return to the Victor, not so much for the food, which was fine, but for the ambiance and excellent service. Next visit I'll spend some some time in the charming library room, in front of the fire. It was an effortless and luxurious stay. I write this as someone who is both particular about accommodations, but who can also go with the flow when a glitch occurs. There wasn't a single glitch, from check in to check out. My husband has ambulatory issues and tires easily, so this was an ideal all in one package for us, with an onsite spa and restaurant. We live an hour away, and have decided to return each season! Our room, a midweek winter special, cost just over $300. The little town of Santa Ynez is charming, and more to my taste than nearby Solvang. All in all - a winner.
