Hotel San Pietro

The middle aged (maybe 60/65) male on reception is super threatening and aggressive . My sister and myself for reference I’m 26 and my sister is 22 were staying at this hotel for 4 nights on our amalfi coast tour , as soon as we check in we got bad vibes from the man on reception , he tried to force us to leave our passports / documents with him while someone shows us to our room , as two young women travelling for the first time out the country we probably are over cautious but all I explained was I would just wait until he was done whilst my sister went to the room , very quickly he became angry shouting in Italian standing up to glare over me honestly I was scared and utterly confused at what had caused his mood change , the woman on reception took over and all was fine . I forgot about it until about two days later we were around the pool for the afternoon and he came aggressively stomping over saying we were breaking hotel rules leaving our towels on the bed whilst we had lunch at the pool bar (everyone was doing this) my sister is definitely more fiery than me and asked why he was targeting us when everyone else in the hotel was doing the same and also said why is a man approaching two young women angrily to this he got really threatening and raised his hand almost to go hit her whilst screaming in her face , the barman had to drag him away he was so enraged. It really unnerved us and the rest of the time we felt so uncomfortable and borderline nervous is him . Please if you’re a young woman or have daughters please avoid this hotel . He isn’t safe.

Comfortable room and nice pool with views of the surrounding hills

Lack of facilities for babies, strollers etc. lots of stairs but no ramps. One tiny elevator, out of service.

Hôtel situé idéalement à 7 minutes à pied de la mer et du centre-ville. L’accueil a été très chaleureux, la chambre était spacieuse, confortable avec tous les équipements nécessaires, terrasse très appréciable. Très bon petit déjeuner. En passant par hotels.com, le parking est à 10€ par jour.

Hotel San Pietro Maiori Stayed here for 3 nights while on a Travel Tour with our group. Maiori was my favorite town that we visited. I would live here. Very Quaint and very Italian. Just Lovely! Not too touristy. Ferries are nearby to take you to Minori, Amalfi, Positano and Capri. There are many shops, markets and restaurants nearby, as well as the beach. Just a Great Place to Be! There is a nice mall area that has so many shops and restaurants. The waterfront is so picturesque. The beach is right there. I had 3 good nights of sleep. Our room overlooked the swimming pool. It was quiet at night. I slept with the windows open. You could hear roosters off in the distance in the morning. It was very nice. Friends of ours had rooms on the main street and told me that the rooms were kind of noisy with street traffic, motorcycles and the like. Glad I had an interior room. Some rooms here were suites with kitchenettes. Ours was a nice basic room. Roomy enough. Water bottles are not provided. There is a mini-bar in the room, which is very expensive. But, there is a supermarket 5 minutes away that has everything you need. Cheap beer and water and of course snacks. Small soap bottles were provided in the shower. Breakfast eggs were just so-so...they need some work. As a group, they made us sit in designated areas, which I did not like. I like to sit in scenic or private areas for breakfast. Service here was excellent. We very much enjoyed our stay here for 3 nights.

We were upgraded to a family room, so it was very spacious. We had a view of the pool. The hotel is about a 15-min walk to the waterfront where you can take the bus to Positano. Beware that buses to Positano can be full later in the morning. It takes 20 mins to walk to the marina. Bus tickets are available at magazine stores, not always at the tabacci (tobacco shops). Breakfast had a good variety.

We were there July 2023. We were in a spacious three bedroom self catering apartment, generally it was fine although dated, especially the kitchen. Decent supermarket and fruit and veg shop close to apartments. No daily competition for the loungers, loved the sprung diving board, it was a real hit for us as a family. I’m pretty sure the hotel is family owned and run so they genuinely care and are helpful. We only had food and drinks at lunchtime from the poolside bar, it was always good. Reasonable walk into town but nothing too strenuous for us. Beautiful town and stunning surrounding area, lots to do and see. Lots of TripAdvisor recommended restaurants in town.

The Hotel was pretty quiet at this time of year, nearing the end of the season. In an Alright location - if you don’t mind walking up a hill- it had super clean room that were generously sized, adequate kitchen facilities and was near to all the amenities we needed.

The outside of this property does need serious attention to improve the appearance. The inside is typical of many Italian hotels. Traditional in appearance, but very clean. Warm welcome, and we were shown to our room and helped with our luggage. Our apartment looked very clean throughout and had a freshly cleaned smell about it. It was really well equipped with a fridge/freezer, full-size cooker, and hob. The bed was seriously comfortable. There was no aircon in the bedroom, but there was a ceiling fab. Being October, we were fine without air-conditioning, and there is air-conditioning in the lounge, if needed. The hotel is on a busy road down to the coast, but as our bedroom was at the rear of the apartment, we were not disturbed by any road noise when sleeping. Local supermarket just down the road and about 10 minutes walk to the seafront. Personally, apart from the person who checked us in, we didn't find the reception staff very interactive. They never looked up if you walked past, and we were never asked if everything was okay or had we had a nice day, etc. Even when asking for our passports back, they were just handed over, with no further engagement, which I have not experienced before in any hotel. Overall, though, our stay was adequate. Maiori restaurant menus, being a town with lots of local fisherman, are very fish and seafood focused. If you do not like one or both of these, apart from pizza and some pasta dishes, you may struggle to find sufficient menu options. We found nowhere offering chicken dishes, only one offering lamb, pork, etc. It's just something to be aware of if choosing Maiori as your holiday destination.
