Hilton Vacation Club The Cove on Ormond Beach

I liked the location of the facility. It was walking distance to restaurants and places to shop. The staff was friendly and helpful. Even though the ramp wasn’t accessible, there was access to the beach and there were other amenities to enjoy.

I didn’t like that I was placed in the South Towers there was no reception desk or an appropriate view of the beach at that facility. The hours designated for usage of beach chairs is too short, it should be extended to 7 or 8pm.

No washer/dryer in the room

The location was perfect, steps from the beach. The staff was incredible, super nice and very helpful.

The bed was very uncomfortable, work up with a sore back everyday. Also, the unit we were in wouldn't get cool enough. I did have someone look at it and they were able to make it better but at night we were still sweating.

Location of the property was perfect for exploring Daytona and Ormand beach. The rooms were very spacious, clean and comfortable. The pool was great for kids and even with the remodeling the secondary beach access wasn’t too far away.

This was a wonderful place to stay! It was a small condo style apartment with a bedroom, bathroom, kitchen and living room. The living room had a balcony where you could sit and watch the ocean. The apartment was very clean and nice. I was given a discount card to a restaurant across the street, which I used and was very good. The restaurant had an outdoor dining area which was relaxing and enjoyable in the evening for dinner. Overall, this was a great place to stay, right on the beach with a great pool area.

The suite was absolutely amazing. It was like a one bedroom apartment. The hallways always smelled so good and clean. The fitness room was just right. Every employee that I encountered was nice and helpful. The location was just right. Would definitely recommend and will be booking again.

The WiFi was spotty and not as strong.

After reading some of the other reviews, perhaps we were fortunate as we thought overall the property was good, but a bit less in quality than some of the other HGVC properties that have been built specifically for HGVC. This property was a former Diamond Resort (blt ~ early 70's) which came into the HGVC umbrella and does have some catching up to do to Hilton standards. They also seem to be still dealing with the damage caused by Hurricane Milton in 2024. such as the ramp to the beach is in disrepair. From the resort you must use the stairs to access the beach. First the staff was friendly and personable, and a couple items that had to be corrected in our room was immediately attended to and corrected. Shout out to Diamond and Mohammed (sp?). Our room was in the North Tower, on the 7th floor, 1 room from the beach side with a decent view of the beach and ocean. The furniture appeared to be new, as well as the appliances and carpeting. The bathroom is small and dated but that reflects the time in which the resort was built. Some shelves over the toilet would be helpful to store toiletries. It would also help to convert the bathtub to a walk in shower as some of the Hampton Inns have done. The kitchen had the basic utensils and dishes that are needed, but again, not quite up to other HGVC properties such as mixing bowls, more than one pot, etc., but we made things work and was able to conjure up some meals. In the bedroom, there was a narrow, cantilevered shelf imitating as a night stand, with no shelves underneath. This seems it's becoming a standard thing in Hilton properties and we thoroughly dislike them. There's barely room for my husband to put his CPap machine on, and we had to put the phone on the floor! The bed was comfortable as we all expect from Hilton. All the walls are stark white - the rooms, the hallways, the lobby, the Entertainment Center, etc. We think a pale color, at least in the hallways, would give it a little more ambiance and atmosphere. At the time we were there the indoor pool was undergoing some intensive cleaning. There is an outdoor pool with a short lazy river. Although we were texted that it was closed, it was open for guests. There were guests using the pool and the spa, but to us, we thought the pool could use a really good cleaning. The beach is relatively narrow, and at high tide, was even narrower. People are allowed to drive on the beach (entrance a short distance North of The Cove) so watch for the vehicles. There are 2 restaurants nearby, Stonewood Grill & Tavern and Angelina's. If desired, one can drive to New Smyrna Beach. There's Boston Fish House (for those loving New England Seafood - we were so disappointed that it was closed for renovations), the Blackbeard Inn (a very established family restaurant and what a meal you get!), Garlic and Tree House. There's also a Publix grocery store on Granada (Rte 40). Despite some deficiencies, we enjoyed our stay and met and chatted with some other interesting couples. And again, a shout out to Diamond and Mohammed, they couldn't have been more welcoming.
