Summer Place Hotel

Did not end up staying. Curbside this was unappealing. Overgrown weeds at the lobby entrance. Could have been a coincidence but there were people arguing outside and it just didn't feel like a place I would like to stay. Canceled and was not questioned why. That's fine. Was happy to not be harassed. No money refunded. That's fine I didn't think it would be . Stayed elsewhere and it turned out to be a nice/nicer place still in the price range.

Run down appearance. Weeds directly outside the lobby door. From the get go it seems run down. Did not care to see the inside. For the location even if price is good they can try to make it inviting.

One night only thank goodness!

Collecting the keys and the temporary parking permit from the gentleman at the front door was quick.

The gentleman at the front desk was very unpleasant to communicate with and made an attempt to insult our intelligence when we asked whether parking in front of the hotel was permitted or metered parking. He said, "Let me explain like you're stupid..." to out of towners who would have no reason to be familiar with the parking restrictions in Rehoboth beach. There was no reason to be spoken to this way as we approached him with a smile and were courteous. Based on this interaction alone, and before even seeing the conditions of our room, I vowed not to return to this hotel. The room itself was in very poor shape and it was clear that the rooms are not cleaned in between patrons. There was sand on the floor which any decent vacuum could handle, there was mold on the sheets, the toilet seat had not been cleaned, and we were unsure of whether the shower stall had been cleaned between patrons. There was clear dust and dirt that running a moist cloth over a surface could have taken care of. There were instructions to turn off all power (including air conditioning) when leaving the room, which in a beachside hotel in the middle of the summer is not something that can be done without risking mold forming. If they want patrons to turn off the A/C when leaving the room, they need to have de-humidifiers running in every room. We should not have had to sleep in a dirty room with moldy sheets, even for a budget price. Do yourself a favor and do not choose this hotel.

It was cozy clean walkable distance to beach plenty places around for viewing

Closeness to town, beach and boardwalk.

The room was small could use updated decor. Third floor walk up. What I reserved wasn’t what I got and for the price I should have gotten the room reserved.

Location

Very dirty, mildew smell, broken refrigerator, unwashed sheets, mold, low safety, broken window, door is hard to open and lock, floor was wet on arrival.
