Hotel Dorado Plaza Bocagrande - All Inclusive

Facilities are quiet worn out and the rooms are very poorly maintained. We were moved 2 times. 1st a/c not working, 2nd beds were broken. Finally they gave us an upgrade to an ocean view however a/c was a bit low and the room kept getting warm specially during the afternoon times since the sun hit directly through the windows. Food was good, entertainment was good and the end we managed to have an ok stay at the hotel.

They charged me for 3 towels for the fact that I stained the towels with washable hair dye. Treated me like some sort of criminal when I tried to leave. Front desk service was really unpleasant.

The most expensive hotel I stayed in while in Cartagena and by far the worst hotel experience I’ve had in my life! Shabby buildings and rooms. Totally disorganized check in. Took about 1 hour. Incredibly rude and unhelpful staff. Room was the worst. Crayon markings on furniture, no working air conditioning (80 degrees F in the room),no working wifi or television. No running hot water! Nothing came out of the faucet. Told front desk about the issues and they said they would send someone, but never did. Staff literally detained us upon checking out and would not let us leave hotel for some unknown reason that no one on staff could explain to us. Security staff literally grabbed our bags and would not let us leave although we had already checked out and were waiting for an Uber to the airport. Isn’t this illegal?! After over 20 minutes, some lobby guy (manager? I hope not) said it was a mixup and we could leave. Management and many hotel staff should be fired! The absolute worst hotel experience I have ever had and I travel a lot! Horrible! Stay away!
