"Wonderful holiday."

I would like to highlight the excellent work of the housekeeping team during my stay. The rooms were always very clean, well-organized, and maintained to a high standard. Linen and towels were fresh, and everything was properly arranged each day. The housekeeping staff were professional, attentive, and responded quickly to any requests. Their attention to detail and consistency really made my stay more comfortable and enjoyable. Overall, I am very satisfied with the housekeeping service and truly appreciate the effort put in by the team. Keep up the great work!

"Wonderful stay and quad tour"

10.0

We had a wonderful stay with my wife. We came back for the second year in a row and we will definitely return again. The food was excellent, the massages were very professional, and we also really enjoyed our quad tour with Moncef. We will certainly be coming back!

"Pros and cons"

6.0

We stayed here for one night and it was a thoroughly mixed experience. Pros: - Outstanding value at just £115 for a twin room. - A vast, high class, well maintained hotel with excellent facilities, eg the giant pool, beach and padel courts. - Open and serving food at all hours even during Ramadan and Eid. Cons: - Very poor customer service. Check-in took 20 mins at two counters. - Our room was a double not a twin as booked which required another tedious visit to reception. - The staff were unwelcoming and unhelpful. - Lunches at Turquoise were only average. I ordered a surf and turf burger and instead was served a toasted tuna sandwich without being asked what I'd like as an alternative. - Masses of choice at breakfast but little that appealed to me.

"Bargain break, not much buzz, spa worth every penny"

8.0

I stayed at the Radisson Blu Palace Resort from Monday 9th March to 14th March. First things first — I booked this at an unbelievably good price. Honestly, probably the best-value package I’ve ever had. So straight off the bat, for what I paid, this review needs to be read with that in mind. I had a superior room with a terrace (their cheapest option) including breakfast — and for the money, it felt like a steal. Now, reality check — March is very much off-season. The weather wasn’t great: mostly overcast, very windy, and the beach/swimming were basically a no-go. If you’re coming for sun and sea, don’t come in March and then complain. The room itself? Genuinely excellent value. Very large, spotlessly clean, comfortable bed, decent bathroom, and two bottles of water daily — no complaints there at all. If I were reviewing just the room, it’s an easy thumbs up. The hotel itself is… interesting. It’s huge, and when it’s quiet, you really feel it. At times it felt like I’d wandered into a slightly faded version of what must be a very impressive hotel in peak summer. You can tell it’s built to handle big numbers — but in March, it feels like the place is only half awake. And that’s really the issue. The hotel felt like it was slowly stretching after a long winter nap. Very few guests, limited areas open, and not much atmosphere. What stood out more was the lack of visible staff — at times it genuinely felt like you had to go on a bit of a treasure hunt to find someone. Walking around, especially down towards the beach, large parts felt closed or simply not operating. It’s not that anything was “bad” — it just wasn’t really… happening. One thing to be aware of — there’s not a lot going on in the immediate area around the hotel. Don’t expect to wander out for a nice stroll with shops, bars, or anything to explore… there’s pretty much nothing. If you want to get into town, you’ll need a taxi. That said, it’s not really a problem. Taxis are everywhere, easy to use, and surprisingly cheap — so getting around is straightforward once you accept you’re not walking anywhere. Also worth noting — I felt like one of the very few English speakers in the hotel. Most guests I saw and heard were French. Not an issue at all, just something to be aware of. To be fair to the hotel, the staff were great on this — as soon as I started speaking English, they switched without hesitation and communication inside the hotel was never a problem. Outside the hotel, though, it’s a different story. Not speaking French can make things a bit more of a challenge — you can get by, but don’t expect everything to be easy. Breakfast was included, and I had it every morning. It’s your standard big hotel buffet — nothing special, nothing terrible, just… there. You won’t be writing home about it. That said, a few highlights — the fruit and dates were excellent, and the coffee, bread, rolls, and French pastries were genuinely very good. So while it felt quite geared towards the French guests, I definitely wasn’t going hungry. Evenings were a different story. Most nights I headed out into town and ate at some genuinely excellent restaurants — great food, very reasonable prices, and a much better overall experience. On my last night, I tried the hotel’s dinner buffet… and this is where things dropped off a bit. It wasn’t terrible — but it definitely wasn’t good either. I genuinely struggled to find anything I really enjoyed. There was plenty there, but very little I’d go back for. Nothing offensive, just a lot of very forgettable food. Lunch I can’t comment on, as I never tried it. That said, credit where it’s due — one night I ordered a late room service cheeseburger, and it was outstanding. Properly good. Easily a 10/10. Great burger, arrived quickly, and exactly what you want late in the evening. Ironically, probably the best meal I had at the hotel. The real payoff at this hotel — and what genuinely saves it — is the spa. You get access to a free indoor pool, which is actually very good. It’s a decent size, nicely heated, and perfect given the weather when I was there. There are also a couple of jacuzzi-style areas… although calling them jacuzzis is generous. Not very hot, not very bubbly — a bit underwhelming if I’m honest. There’s also a sauna, which has definitely seen better days, but it does the job if you’re just looking to get a proper sweat on. But the real ace up the sleeve is the paid spa package — and this is where the hotel really comes into its own. For €29, you get a few hours’ access, and it is absolutely worth it. The highlight is the saltwater pool that runs from inside to outside, beautifully heated. On my last day, the sun finally came out, and lying in the outdoor section of that pool with the sun on me was easily one of the best moments of the trip. There’s also a really good steam hammam, which I used a few times and thoroughly enjoyed, plus a lovely sun deck upstairs to relax on. Small touch, but a nice one — they also offer excellent herbal teas while you’re there, which just adds to the whole experience. Honestly, 10/10 for the paid spa. If the weather isn’t great (which it often isn’t in March), this alone makes staying at the hotel worthwhile. Bottom line: Incredible value for money Great rooms Quiet, limited facilities, and low energy out of season Would I go back? Yes — but only at the right price, and probably in peak season to see the place as it’s meant to be.

"Disappointed"

6.0

I visit Djerba regularly and was told that Radisson Blu was one of the best hotels, so I decided to stay there to celebrate my birthday. Unfortunately, I was very disappointed with my experience. Despite it being my birthday, there was no acknowledgment at all — no greeting, no small gesture, nothing. I arrived late after missing my flight and travelling for over 12 hours, yet there was no warmth, care, or consideration shown on check-in. No welcome drink, no courtesy, and no sense that guests were valued. Throughout my stay, I felt the staff were disengaged. They rarely spoke to guests and mostly interacted only among themselves. This made the atmosphere feel unwelcoming and impersonal. Based on my experience, the service was far below expectations. I have received far better service in Uylesse Thalasso hotels and even 4 star hotels such as Vincci dar mideon, where staff are attentive, friendly, and genuinely care about guests. Sadly, this stay did not feel like a birthday celebration at all, and I would not choose this hotel again based on the level of service provided.

"A Mixed Bag."

8.0

I should admit straight away that we came in the second week in January, and it was VERY cold. I would NOT recommend you do this, as it was too cold for the pool, and too cold for the sea, even though I came with a wetsuit! The rooms are bright and spacious, with good facilities. However, we found there is no a/c during the Winter, and so the vents crank out hot air or nothing at all. We had to sleep with the sliding doors open - not great for security. The second night our room was over 27 degrees! When I asked at reception about the problem a manager tried to tell me that the hotel doesn't have a/c which is absurd. Meals - breakfast was adequate, with a modest amount of choice. Bring your own cereal. Of course, there were no more than 50 guests so it's understandable that they wouldn't provide much food. Dinner was good sometimes. There was never a rush to get in, as in January it was never crowded. We thought the food was rather bland. Oddly the best dish was the labnah. The simplest dishes were the best. The meat was usually tough, and the fish was full of small bones. There's a dress code for men in the restaurant, but, as usual, it wasn't enforced. The beach is grubby, with a lot of rubbish flying around, and the water was cloudy. Security is provided, which is a bonus. The spa was quite good, though expensive. Warning: the hotel prohibits the bringing in of any food and drink (even bottled water) so if you go to the supermarket for water and snacks come back along the beach and come into the hotel through the back door. Otherwise the guard at the front gate will confiscate them. Tours: Kamal will grab you in the lobby and get you to sign up for a tour. We took the "free" trip to the Souk, but had to pay for a taxi to get back to the hotel. It's not the greatest Souk you've ever seen. The tours via easyJet have an early start (6:45 a.m.) but are worth taking. One week is enough. Overall, it's an interesting place, we were the only British guests and were clearly outnumbered by the Libyans who had driven across the border.

"Relaxing Hotel"

10.0

Very quiet and relaxing hotel. Beautiful decor. Food at breakfast was nice but could have been more variety. Assia at the children’s club was so nice and helpful. Although not many children at this off peak time she made a memorable time for my children and they had lots of fun at kids club. Apart from kids club there were not any entertainment at this time of year and nothing close by to the hotel so the evenings were quiet quiet. The restaurant by the pool and beach was beautiful. Moncef working there was such a nice person and he always offered to help with anything a real pleasure to meet him. The outdoor pool was great but cold at this time of year and the indoor pool was so warm and great to use.
