Pacific Grove Inn

Large room, very clean, gas fireplace kept us warm when needed.

A little maintenance is needed. Some bathroom fixtures are broken. No smoke detector in one room. Phone conversations with staff are difficult with a noisy phone connection (multiple times) and English as a second language.

The price was high

It was good. Would stay again but they could invest in updated mattresses, pillows and linens. Daily housekeeping was great but the overall cleanliness could be improved with some deep cleaning like washing walls and vacuuming heater vents.

Very charming Victorian centrally located to everything in Pacific Grove. Pacific Grove is an extremely safe community but extra safe when you're across the street from the Police Department! Check-in was a breeze, room was spacious and clean. We stayed in a premium Queen which had a small seperate room with a single twin bed that gave everyone a bit more privacy. Perfect for working late on my computer while my kid slept. This hotel only had about 6 units, so it was really quiet and peaceful in a beautiful area. Loved the shared full size refrigerator in common area where you leave a post-it with your room # on your items :)

The location is excellent

Full disclosure, we did not stay here. We stopped here by mistake - our reservation was actually with Pacific Gardens Inn. However, our experience just at the front door was so poor that I was greatly relieved to have gotten the name wrong. Read the reviews about the invisible staff. Based on our limited experience with a rude person who only communicated through the ring doorbell, I trust those reviews are accurate. Fwiw, we had a wonderful experience at Pacific Gardens Inn, where the staff was incredibly friendly and helpful.
