Trip Duration: 9 Days The Good Stuff: The food was excellent at their restaurants. We had breakfast daily at the The Brick Oven and also tried the dinner buffet at Royal Indianaa. The room service food was equally yummy. The front office staff, concierge staff, restaurant staff are all very commendable. Special mention would be doorman Roshan. He always had warm greetings for us and took great interest to know if we had a good day and was genuinely concerned when we told him about a mishap we had during the trip. The Not So Good Stuff: The rooms need some upgrading or better maintenance especially the toilets/shower facilities. I don’t see much improvement from my previous visit 5 years ago. Housekeeping staff gave us a really hard time during this trip. Everyday they would forget to replenish something, most of the times it was towels. If you get bath towels you don’t get face towels and vice versa. Mid way through our trip, we were woken up at 4.30am by constant slamming of the door. After 20 minutes of trying to ignore it, we went to check and realized it was the housekeeping staff cleaning the room next door but without putting a door stopper. So every time they went in and out the door slammed. Would recommend this hotel for it’s centralized location and good food options.

Location is good, staff are friendly. Food was poor and did not even come close to my expectations especially since the CEO is a celebrity chef. The breakfast spread was pathetic with tiny quantities laid out. The bathroom had mould in all corners, the walls were peeling because of moisture and I would not even be ready to touch the bathtub grip because it was a breeding ground for mould and bacteria. I was stuck in the hotel because I pre-paid through Expedia and was put through a rigmarole when I requested a cancellation. Never will I ever give Expedia a credit card in the future for Hotel accommodation.

"Exceptional"

Efficient, friendly, helpful staff make this hotel great. Room was comfortable. Bed was fine, plenty of toiletries and water- and with a great view of the city. WiFi was good and a packed breakfast and taxi had been ordered on time for my early departure.

We refer to the above and to our holiday & stay in Accord Metropolitan, Chennai which turn out to be a very memorable stay indeed. We booked three (3) rooms for 8 days stay in Chennai. The reception staffs when we arrived were very courteous, warm, very hospitable and very welcoming least to say. What we experienced turned out very well, especially “Rizwan” at the reception was very pleasant, full of smiles and most accommodating at that wee hours of the night. We are frequent travelers and we normally checkout the properties before planning a booking but with these hotel we had no time to do so and what we experienced, was very pleasing. These hotel really stood out in their 5-star ranking. Firstly, the buffet breakfast had an array of food to test our palates, was delicious and enjoyable. Although, the hotel was packed with guests, the staffs like Vinod, Pradeep and Karthik were able to give their best and we were never short of service during breakfast time. The ambience was very good. Next, the rooms were clean, tidy, comfortable, cozy and spacious. The housekeeping was excellent. Most of all, the front desk manager/executive Ms.Leena was very helpful, dedicated, courteous and most suited to the job, who knows to cater the needs of her guests, and so with Koushik Choudhary (Guest Facilitation Manager) and Bala.

However we wish to highlight one aspect of our stay at the Accord Metropolitian Chennai wherein a better approach could have been taken for guests. Our flight was at 12 midnight and we spoke to the hotel front desk regarding this matter if we could have a late checkout as what we did with most of the other hotels we stayed in (including Marriott Dehli & Surat, Le’Meridian, Sahara Star Mumbai and many more) unfortunately we were met by one of the room’s manager called Sivakumar who refused outrightly to extend our check out time. We were honestly very surprised and definitely sure he must be an Inexperienced Manager in dealing with guests because we had actually stayed with them for nearly “24 Nights (3rooms x 8 days = 24)”!! and he could not extend until 7pm ( JUST FIVE HOUR!! ). Instead, he questioned us why we booked through other apps and not through the hotel apps. We were also told that the other apps were cheaper therefore he could not extend our time. In fact we paid nearly RM 7,000(RINGGIT MALAYSIA RS 126,000 to book the 3 rooms. We do not think that’s CHEAP!!. We are highlighting this issue mainly for guests who are booking in with children, babies and aged people who might also have a late night flight. For these people, we would suggest, kindly confirm with the hotel before booking. Our strong recommendation is, Sivakumar (the said room manager) should be incharge of other departments and certainly not in connection with handling guests.

Tamil Nadu vegetarian buffet at the restaurant was great. The wash room is in a terrible condition and needs urgent upgrade. Air conditioner is too noisy Towels are very old and needs replacement

The room requires serious upgrade. Especially bathroom is falling apart with broken faucet, leaking flush and dirty bath tub. The staffs in the hotel are extremely good and helpful. I would recommend if they make necessary repairs.
