Daydream Island Resort

Beds were comfy, rooms were roomy, most staff were friendly, the living reef was a major draw card . Lovely grounds to walk around, lovely rainforest walk but quite dangerous in parts very rocky , slippery, very few steps

It was hit and miss with room clean and most staff were between 17 -21 our bathroom was missed they didn’t clean it took the towels but didn’t replace them. The breakfast was pretty boring. Coffee was not drinkable so we had to pay for decent coffee, the pools were freezing yes it was winter but the outdoor pools at Hamilton island were heated during the winter months because the days were sunny. Parts of the resort very dated. $200 for 2 adults to catch the ferry from daydream island to Hamilton Island. We saw 3 kids under 5 leaning over the railing 3 levels up to look down at the fish, we told a staff member who told the in charge breakfast staffer who shrugged his shoulders and laughed. Yes parents should have been supervising however if any of those kids fell the resort would be responsible under OHS laws because the law would say why wasn’t any barriers there to prevent this, plus they are children not something I would want to witness , thankfully as I was about to leave my table parents showed up.

The activities were good

The staff didn't seem to know much about where to access washing powder. They advertise happy hour and denied it was and refused to provide the prices stated on the sign. There was minimal coffee, sugar, milk in the rooms

The natural scenery was stunning and the island itself were absolutely stunning. . The living reef was pretty and the pools were lovely. The on-site nurse was absolute homely and such a lovely person.

The room smelt like dead mould and were not clean. Paid for an upgrade so I could have a bath and ended up not being able to use the bath because the bottom of it was filthy. Bought my own snacks but had to throw it all out because the refrigerator didnt work. There was a cockroach in the bathroom and I ended up with a big swollen bite on my arm and had to go to the on-site nurse. Lovers cove was stunning and could of spent all day down there until the young girls handing out snorkels put dance music on blocking out all natures sounds and making it unpleasant. You only had 2 restaurants to choose from and the food was average at saltis and inedible at infinity. Spent $154 on food we couldnt eat as was inpalatable. The staff were more interested in standing around talking to each than trying to help. Also paid extra for the breakfast and to say it was disappointing is to say the least. No love poured into this place at all. Cost us $1000s of dollars and is probable the worst holiday we have had other than location and were so sad to pay $680 on departure for food we barely ate. We couldnt wait to get back inland to be able to actually eat again. Would we return to this place most definitely not.

Everything was perfect
