Beautiful Whitsunday island, lovely room.

Island was lacking ambiance, there should have been e been someone playing music near the pool and lunch venue during the day.

Lovely location and view

Moldy bathrooms and very unclean room, old outdated decor. Photos of the property are very deceiving. This resort is a 3 star resort at best. When we arrived the hotel staff gave us the wrong room, turned out someone else was already starting in that room very embarrassing. A pone returning to the front desk the front staff did not apologies for the mistake but blamed someone else. I then told her we booked a room with the ocean view which she argued the incorrect room did have a 'view'. The front staff did not offer to take our luggage to our room and service was shocking horrible, i don't expect to go on a holiday to argue with the front desk staff for a room we payed for. Second night in the emergency evacuation alarm went on 3 times in one night, all false alarms. I couldn't not believe the incompetency of this resort. Do not waste your money at hell island!!!!! The island is beautiful but seems abandoned and only 2 restaurants to pick from. We left after 3 nights and cut our trip short. Save your money and go stay at hamilton island where the service is impeccable and so much more to do and see.

Tropical island location and ocean views

This was my 7th stay at Day Dream Island. Needless to say, I love it. I know exactly the room I like, the pools are amazing, enough day beds, pool towels. This time, there were not as many patrons. Clean, divine beds and pillows. Convenient doors to the pool areas. Views from the room breathtaking. The iconic, salty, and breakfast restaurants were great, very friendly, and professional service. Families seem to love it. Of course children eat and stay for free.

Tonic bar had dirty cups lipstick, coffee coffee rings on the base, not just one or two at least 5 that i had to refuse from the barman 4pm (14th june). Layer i saw him opening a container with his teeth and using it in a patron's drink. Not much of an idea about hygiene.

Location is exceptional, 360 views of the most beautiful ocean scenery. We saw dolphins, sea turtles, lots of fish and crabs throughout the week, and loved feeding the Roos which you can do by purchasing a $5 tub from the water sports hut. Our room had probably the best view on the island in my opinion, our terrace was literally the shore and sweeping views of the ocean with no adjoining room either side - perfect for the peace, quiet and tranquility we were seeking. Every morning we had kangaroos and birds right on our doorstop and it truly was stunning. The location of our room definitely made the whole trip and we’re very glad we opted for ocean view over the pool/living reef options which were still nice - just not as magical. The water sports and activities in the island during the day were great, we played tennis, kayaked and snorkelled all as part of their free offering. We also paid for a jet ski excursion and a day cruise to Whitehaven and Hamilton Island and both of these were exceptional experiences and well worth the cost. We booked these easily through the tour desk at Daydream and the staff were super helpful.

A few teething issues in our room, no working air con for the first couple of nights and a very large gap under our hotel room door which meant we had a couple of crawly visitors! We were offered a room move/upgrade as a result, but we opted to stay put given how much we loved our rooms location. Fortunately on the 3rd day, our air con suddenly began working again and we ended up putting a blanket down overnight at the door to stop any cockroaches getting in through the gap. So just an FYI on room 3135 that you probably want to get a draft excluder or something fitted on the bottom of that door 🙂 We personally didn’t think there were enough food options on the island. If you’re staying for a whole week like we were, it’s a little repetitive, particularly if you are a fussy eater or vegetarian. I think Salti’s dinner menu could do with a bit more variety. The lunch menu was far more appealing to us personally than that on offer at dinner. Lastly, we just slightly disappointed with the lack of things to do in the evenings. We feel the island could benefit from a few more options in the atrium. Pool table, board games, more events etc. Past 6pm there’s really not a lot to entertain yourself with so definitely take some playing cards etc! We were really looking forward to the outdoor cinema on the Friday, walked all the way down there only find it had been cancelled with no clear notice of such. When we asked we were told it was because of ‘wet weather’, but it didn’t even rain so that was a bit disappointing also as it was the only night where there could’ve been some actual late night entertainment and it seemed the just didn’t really want to run it which was a shame.
