Moorings Hotel

The positives: clean, happy hours, nice pool and view, daily room clean, dinner specials, delicious steak The annoying bits: - staff are friendly but lack customer service, - no tissues in room, - there is not free WiFi despite what the sign and website tells you - paid internet is expensive and the ‘free’ WiFi in public areas doesn’t work (it also took a week for someone to give me the password, they kept saying I had to buy my own, part of the reason I booked here was because I needed WiFi for work), - breakfast is just fruit, cereal and toast - same everyday. You can buy eggs but if you’re looking for a nice varied meal each morning go elsewhere - if you like to have a sleep in you need to cover the wooden blinds with towels or you’ll be up at 6:30am everyday.

Nice location (hotel bar and neighbouring bar have a very nice outlook) and easy access to the airport. Super basic room consisting of basically just a bed. No desk for a computer, no chair. AC and ceiling fan wouldn't turn off so had the AC roaring through the night even though it was middle of winter in Vila and not needed. Managed to turn the fan off by taking the key out of the room control. No bedside lamp. There is a kettle and fridge though.

Very poor internet connexion. Very noisy place (next door to a trendy bar). Basic equipment in the room

Moorings has a lovely setting right on the waterfront. Our room opened onto the deck where we could watch reef fish being fed by the staff. All our requests were met cheerfully by the friendly staff. Included Continental breakfast had lovely tropical fruit, and for variety, there are at least 5 restaurants within 5 minutes' walk. I hired a kayak and there are also paddle boards. Well priced hotel and highly recommended.

Great follow through on requests - nothing too much trouble

Nice. Clean. Good AC. Comfy bed. Walking distance to restaurants. On the water. Nice pool. Close to the airport.

Nice hotel close to beach, nice restaurant, nice staff

This is a perfect place for a stopover for business people and travellers going onto other locations. It is close to the airport, very central and offers everything one needs. The Asian food menu is excellent - best meal we had in Vanuatu! The others were not very good at all. Molli - the Receptionist was extremely helpful and friendly - a lovely lady. It is really good to see an establishment like this growing and meeting the needs of an obviously fast expanding little city. Not sure if it is qualified as a city - would need a cathedral for that! Thanks again for a very comfortable stop over.

Free wifi is quite frustrating - limited to restaurant area n speed is poor. Also inconvenience of having to re-log in everytime you power off laptop or leave the restaurant area

An enjoyable place to stay with a nice outlook and location, restaurant was reasonably priced and food was enjoyable, as we had an early flight the kitchen made us a platter of fruit and muffins the night before so we did not miss out on breakfast
