"Beautiful lodge with friendly staff"

The lodge has extensive common areas that are beautifully finished, including a fireplace, lounge, billiard room and hot tub for relaxing or meeting other guests. The room was first class with many nice touches. No TV in room but TV in common area and free wifi. The staff are very welcoming and the breakfast was excellent.

"Beautiful location, great place to stay"

My husband and I spent two nights at the Vagabond Lodge. The owners and hosts Ken and Lori welcomed us into their home like old friends. The building is beautiful and has a fantastic location. The breakfast cooked and served by Ken and Lori was delicious. They were also very helpful in recommending restaurants in Golden and suggesting activities. We wish we had the chance to use the hot tub and pool table.

"the best hosts"

wonderful facilities, great views, the friendliest and most accommodating host and hostess that you could imagine. For summer the location is a 4+, for skiing the location would be a clear 5. We'd go back in a heartbeat.

"Excellent Place to stay in Small town!!"

Lori and Ken are great hosts and they provide the coziest intimate hotel setting that I have ever experienced. They are private owners of this lodge and it's basically their home... I wish we had more than one night there, I know that if I visit Golden again, I will stay at the Vagabond again. Thank you Ken and Lori, hopefully next time we can chat more :)

"Charm and Comfort"

Beautiful log cabin style, warm, cozy, yet upscale. Could not have asked for more! Amazing breakfast included with our stay. Our host, Ken was most accomadating.

"Vagabond Lodge at Kicking Horse Resort"

This private lodge is definitely geared towards winter tourism. The room was extremely hot (mid September) with no air-condition. There was no TV in the room either. Night was very noisy from patrons of the nearby restaurant/bar. If you like a family style environment, this might be for you. For those of you looking for privacy and the 'luxury' of modern life (like a TV or an air-con), stay away from this hotel.
