Vagabond Lodge at Kicking Horse Resort

Our stay at Vagabond Lodge was great. It is a bit out of town and was very quiet, just what we were looking for. If you come in the skiing season though, it is very close to the lifts and slopes, so we will have to come back one say and try this out as well. The highlight is the owner Ken, who is the most welcoming and helpful person you can imagine. We will definitely stay here again.

Vagabond is a wonderful stop. Rooms are spacious and comfortable, bathrooms are modern and roomy. Breakfasts are excellent with a wide variety of choices. The proprietors are very friendly and an excellent source of local touring and dining information. Golden itself is a small village of small interest but Golden's proximity to the Yoho Canadian National Park is a great advantage. Wonderful hiking and many scenic venues. The nearby tourist information office is also a great source of info. Golden is about 1 hour west of Lake Louise in Banff National Park. The drive thru Yoho is a super scenic experience. Vagabond is a cozy retreat worth considering when traveling to the Canadian Rockies.
