On arrival the room given was far from what I booked and paid for. They gave me a bar fridge and tea making facilities. Breakfast is of poorest seen. No cups nor does coffee machines work. At 09h00 no more ham or cheese. You can ask for hot water nothing. Urn ice cold. Woke up being bitten by bedbugs. Wifi not working. I have to stand in passage. Now they changing rooms waiting for an hour already for housekeeping. Moved me to 5th floor looking out into apartments. Very bad.

"nice stat, clean room"

10.0

I liked my stay at Asteria hotel. I had few hotels during my trip in St. Petersburg and this was a pleasant stay. My room was bright, clean and tidy, bed was comfy and with good linen. I enjoyed location nearby main attractions and restaurants. There are few underground stations, but Uber was cheap and I used it. Also I could reached some destinations on foot. I visited Alexandrinsky theatre next day, that is just 10-15 minutes by walk. I kept my staff in hotel for free while was in the city and in the end of my day took a short ride Uber from hotel to Moscow railway station. Free breakfast was a nice bonus. There were pastry, panckaes, dried and fresh fruits, some local meals, eggs, marinated and fresh vegetables, cottage cheese. I missed Nutella and good cheese on a buffet line, but it’s not a France and they have Russian cheese, so it’s not a big deal. I took a dinner at the restaurant in front of hotel. There is a yard with playground for kids. But no free parking in front of the hotel entrance. If you use a taxi it’s ok.

"Cute hotel. Great staff. "

8.0

Asteria has a good location for your average tourist, the staff was really nice and the breakfast is good. There’s 24 hour room service too. The room was a lot smaller than I thought it would be but if you’re a tourist who is out most of the day and night it will be fine. The rooms were sound proof, the wi fi worked well, beds and bedding was comfortable too. It had a bit of an anonymous feel when walking around the hotel which I don’t like but the staff’s held and courtesy really made a huge difference. It didn’t have a kettle which I really like and there was not a safe as advertised which is also important but besides those things it was a solid hotel. The river view really make it nice too.

"great short stay"

We stayed here for 2 nights during our cruise around the Gulf of Finland. The room was very nice and the hotel is in a good location. The staff at the front desk spoke English very well. The breakfast was included and offered a lot of different options.

"Excellent room in St Petersburg!"

8.0

I stayed here for 2 nights on my Exodus Moscow to St Petersburg trip. I was given a double room all to myself, which was ideal for me. The bed and pillow were both very comfortable, ensuring I slept very well each night. The bathroom had a hydro massage bath with overhead showerhead, which stayed hot throughout my stay. The hydro massage bath was lovely and very relaxing day after a day walking miles around the city. The free wifi could be easily accessed from my room and in all public places of the hotel. The breakfast was great with plenty of choice including pancakes, bread, cold meats, yoghurts, fresh fruit juice and great coffee. Two free water bottles were provided in my room. The hotel is in an ideal location for exploring the city. I would stay here again if I find myself back in St Petersburg as the location is ideal and the rooms very comfortable!

The reception staff as individuals were cooperative. However, we strongly believe that the hotel management didn't care about guests very much. They put us in room very hard to access through a next building and you see nothing in terms of view and with a mosquitoes problem. The receptionist was happy to consider moving us into a different room but the reservation denied this request. Also, twice before arrival, they informed us that the hotel is 7 min Issac Square. It took us more than 40 min pulling our luggage in the streets of SPb. Should they have been more truthful we wouldn't been that disappointed.

"2 night stay in St Petersburg "

8.0

We stayed here for 2 nights and had a nice time during our visit to St Petersburg. The hotel reception staff were really friendly and had us checked in pretty quickly considering how busy they were (thank you). Our room was upgraded which was great and we had a hot tub (love tub I believe it is called), mirrors on the ceiling over the bed and good wifi. Clean room and very clean bathroom. Air conditioning was really good (we had very hot weather outside so this was very welcome). Breakfast was served downstairs and there is a little something for everyone, the crepes were delicious. Hot tip- use the coffee machine to the right as this one tastes great. I saw a babushka using a soup bowel for her coffee mug so I did the same. After walking all over St Petersburg all day it was really nice to come back to our room, crank the AC and soak in the tub then sleep in a comfortable bed.
