Asteria Hotel

The hotel is located by the Fontanka river a few hundred meters from the Sennaya metro station and in a bit longer walking distance from the Gostiny Dvor/Nevsky Prospect and the Vladimirskaya/Dostoyevskaya stations. In a Fontanka suite (or a Junior Suite) with a jacuzzi and a view to the Fontanka river, the basic features and amenities like the water pressure, the bed and the mattresses and pillows as well as the safe were of adequate level. The high rooms are more a rule than an exception in a decent St. Petersburg hotel and this is also the case in the Asteria. The Fontanka embankment has a fair share of traffic 24/7 but the noise was not too disturbing thanks to the soundproofed windows. There were a few issues, however, that caused unnecessary stress during our stay. Our key cards got demagnetized on their own during the day and had to be reset in the reception in the reception once or twice per day - not a huge problem with the reception working 24 hours a day. Furthermore, the wifi access in the room was not reliably working for an Android tablet even though there were no problems with an iPhone - the Android device was still working fine on the 1st floor in the Reception and the restaurant. Check-in and check-out were completely smooth. The staff was very helpful and their English was good enough. It was possible to leave the luggage for storage after check-out for a few hours before the final departure. Location-wise, there are many good and reasonably priced restaurants and a number of shopping centers and shops in the vicinity, and it's easy to get around from the nearby metro stations, so this hotel is certainly worth consideration as the room prices are very reasonable compared to hotels closer to Nevsky Prospect.

Awesome place, good location , great rooms and great service.

This nicely decorated small hotel is in a great location, only 20 minutes walk along the river to Nevsky Prospect. The reception staff speak English and were friendly and accommodating. Our twin room was quite small, but had everything we needed. It was at the rear, so lacked a river view, but was quiet. Tea making facilities were provided. There was a good choice of breakfast foods. A supermarket practically next door came in handy. I recommend this hotel for anyone who doesn't need 5 star service.

The location of the hotel is good but chk the rooms u r getting before you book Cannal facing room are good others are average Vegetarian breakfast is ok not much options Drinks are reasonably priced Staff is comfortable in English but not very friendly

The room was OK. The only problem was very thin curtains which let the light in, so you don't sleep so well and wake up early. The breakfast buffet is excellent.

Hôtel très bien placé pour la visite de St Petersbourg. Si on veut du calme la nuit il faut demander une chambre sur la cours. Petits déjeuners très bien fournis.

Clean, comfortable hotel in a nice location. The suite was spacious and well furnished, with good air conditioning. The neighborhood, while a little distance from the main sights, was safe and clean. Breakfast was tasty and included, and there was some rotation each day in the choices provided. I'd be happy to stay here again if I were in the area!

Plassering er ypperlig, sentralt, nær de viktigste å se i byen. Det er litt langt til T-bane, ca. 10 mn å gå. Frokost var passelig, men det verste var kaffe, helt dårlig for å si det mildt. Ellers hjelpsom i resepsjonen og rent. Hotellet operert med 3 stjerner, men prisen på rommet er til et 4 stjerners hotell..

Aamiainen ei ollut kovin kummoinen. Poreamme oli ehkä turha kylpyhuoneessa. Veden lämpötila vaihteli suihkunaikana.
