Latchis Hotel

We went to Brattleboro for the Wagner opera festival. Staying at the Latchis made it possible for us to attend the very long operas because we could simply walk to our room during intermission and rest The staff at Latchis were friendly, caring, accommodating to our needs and requests. The room was comfortable and clean. We will be back again next year!!!!!

The check-in process made me wonder if I accidentally walked into a government building instead of a hotel. On a positive note, I was allowed to check-in at noon. The hotel carries a certain historic charm, but unfortunately, rooms show significant wear and visible damage. The same can be said about Brattleboro, VT.

We stayed at the Latchis to attend an event. Convenient access to the theater. The staff were very friendly and helpful. This is an historic building and a non profit. Fixtures are kept accurate to the building in some cases. Rooms have all the conveniences, great WiFi and super comfortable beds.

Beautiful old Art deco hotel in the heart of Brattleboro. Lots to do, great restaurants nearby (though no food service within the hotel itself. Staff is friendly and attentive. In keeping with the vintage flavor, there are record players and vinyl in every guest room. Unfortunately, the one in my room had a crushed needle, manhandled, I assume, by someone unfamiliar with the proper care and handling of vinyl and theor systems. I recommended the staff leave a little card of instructions for new users, even writing the copy for them! (Yes, I'm that kind of person!) Never acknowledged, but it was still a pleasant stay. Next time, I plan to go to a movie in the vintage movie theater right next door. I very much enjoyed the aroma of popcorn that would fill the hotel stairwells around movie time!

Charming, slightly quirky, quiet, and very conveniently located hotel with historic roots and helpful staff. Many great cafes and restaurants within a few blocks. Don’t miss the Brattleboro museum.

I know this is a historic hotel, but my goodness does it need work. The one saving grace was that it was clean - but I will not be back here. The room was literally decaying - the ceiling was peeling and had a huge water stain and the windows looked like they hadn't been cleaned in a decade - which was a shame since we had a view of the mountain. Parking was free behind the hotel but we were so worried something would happen as many folks linger around that area - it did not appear safe but everything was fine. The check in was so intense - the woman behind the counter was taking like 15 mins with each person and there was a bunch of us waiting and she treated us like children - going through a list of hotel policies with simple things like: return the key haha - in the end I never did find the 'free' coffee and finally noticed the water cooler in the hall before I left...yes, it was cheap for two bedrooms and common area for two adults and a teen - but never again - I also have to say the downtown location is unbeatable...but for one night haha - I was not thrilled. I am giving it 3 stars because the bed was clean and soft, we were one floor above main street and I still slept well despite the traffic noise!

Very samll easy fix- just more/bigger wastebasket but otherwise A+

Great location. Historic hotel with the quirks that come along with that title. Overall a positive experience. Staff were informative a kind.
