Minoa Palace Resort

We are still on holiday at Minoa Palace right now and it’s amazing. Everything is fabulous from the location, the food, beach and the staff. We are a family of three with a 13 year old. We are here hight of season in the summer holidays and it really doesn’t feel like it, everything is so well laid out and so relaxed. You don’t need to worry about sunbeds or anything really. If you are thinking about booking it, do it. You won’t regret it (and I hardly ever write reviews ;)

Just returned from a week at Minoa palace to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary. This is our third visit so that in itself tells you everything you need to know. From the moment you arrive there is someone to greet you. There were a few new staff this year so apologies I don’t recall their names but there was a young man that took our cases and the girl at reception who gave us such a lovely welcome it really did set the tone for our holiday. We stayed in the imperial wing of the hotel, our preference every time we have stayed as it is more modern. The rooms were spotless with everything you could possibly need, tea, coffee machine, welcome bottle of wine and water, even down to mosquito plugs! We went for a couple of hours by the pool after arrival, no issues in getting a sunbed. When we returned there was the most beautiful anniversary cake and bottle of fizz, very much appreciated. Breakfast is served until 10.30 and again was amazing, everything you could possibly think of is available and the service very quick. There was also no rush to leave after 10.30 so you could continue to relax and enjoy the beach views. We did not use the spa which did look amazing but we used the gym which was more than adequate and never too busy. Cleaning of the rooms, they never stopped. There is a new light system on the door to let the cleaner know if they can enter your room. Again they were always polite and even in the heatwave were greeting you with a smile. Our room was cleaned daily and immaculate on our return. We wished we had booked a longer stay than 7 days but we have learnt by this mistake and will stay for longer in our return. We had an amazing 4 nights at the Minoa Palace hotel. The rooms, restaurants, pools and beach were immaculate, and the service was top notch. Special thanks to George, the resort's sommelier, for his nightly wine guidance and discussions with us!

Minoa Palace is a very nice resort in Platanias. The facilities and the service are all top notch! We really found no reason to eave the property for our 4 night stay here other than to go to the grocery store (right next door) and to do Laundry (1 km walk - full service & same day pick up). On the property we enjoyed very nice accommodatoions, two pools (main building and beachside), the beach chairs and umbrellas, and the food in all of the restaurants was very good. My wife and I both commented that unlike most of our experiences with hotel/resort restaurants, the food was very good and the cost was extremely reasonable. The main restaurant has a buffet breakfast with everything you could want including an omelet station. This is included in your room rate. For dinner, the main restaurant has a buffet where they rotate the themes such as International, Cretian, Italian, BBQ, Asian, Greek and Mediteranean. All were very good with numerous options to choose from. In addition, they have an Italian restaurant by the main pool that is open for lunch and was very good. On the beach side of the resort, there al a carte restaurants for Breakfast and Dinner. The food at these was very goood as well. If you're looking for a great stay to just relax by the pool or the beach, I would highly recommend Minoa Beach Resort!

Minoa was a fantastic hotel with incredibly friendly and helpful staff. The pool area was beautiful, and we spent a few hours at the beach each day as well. We especially loved the pool bar — the staff there went above and beyond to provide great service and made us feel truly welcome. One thing we really appreciated was how the staff handled sunbed reservations. We saw someone try to reserve beds early, but the staff removed their items — a small thing, but it made a big difference. We always found available sunbeds, no matter what time we showed up. On our first morning, we were welcomed with prosecco at breakfast — a perfect start after a long journey! The food throughout our stay was excellent, and the breakfast staff were just as kind and attentive as the rest. We also rented bikes during our stay, and the staff kindly drove us to a nearby garage to pick them up. The prices were very reasonable, and they also showed us where to catch the bus, which made getting around super easy. We did have a small issue with ants in the room, but it was handled immediately after mentioning it to reception. Within minutes, it was resolved — very impressive service. Overall, we were extremely satisfied with our stay and wouldn’t hesitate to come back!

Stayed for a week in the bungalow room with our own pool which was the bestest thing ever. Loved every minute of the stay. All the staff is excellent, very nice and helpful. Room was spaces. Bed comfy, pillows maybe a little bit too fluffy for my taste. Resort has basically everything you need for a good vacation. Loved that buildings were smaller and the vibe was like being in a small village. Great pool areas and also nice beach area with free sun beds. Multiple different restaurants with tasty food and excellent service. It's also easy to go to do some shopping or try close-by restaurants. We preferred those by the beach.

Guest relation managers have been very helpful and those managing the different bars, were very empathic. Breakfast choice was top level- croissants are one of the best- even better than in France. The french fries were of Belgian quality and the pizzas better than in Italy. the personnel in general diserve a major applaus always smiling and helpful. One suggestion would be for this resort to have a evening dancing for the young people. and a bottle of wine /water for the evening dinner

Lovely hotel at the end of a busy strip of bars and restaurants..plenty going on outside and lots of places for food and drinks. The hotel is clean and people are friendly and keen to help, however I would not class it as a 5* more a 4. There were a few things that it lacked to give it the 5 star status in my opinion. There was no welcome drink on arrival, the beds my the pool were uncomfortable, and you were only given one bottle of complimentary water in the room, other 4* hotels i have been to you are given daily water or at the very least jugs or glass bottles to refill yourself at water stations. With recycling and the climate being a factor these days I think that maybe a good idea to implement rather than people having to buy plastic bottles.. Chania is definitely worth a bus or taxi ride it is much nicer than Platanias...balos beach is also worth the drive...

Best resort I’ve ever been to, will definitely return! We were treated like royalty, didn’t have to carry anything, all food and drinks came to our spot at the pool or beach and the staff was very kind. The room was beautiful and large and the whole resort was spotless. It was so nice to have breakfast next to the beach and the spa was very relaxing (and private)!
