Stayed here for two nights as part of golfing society trip. it took some time for us all to check in but eventually got to our room. Bathroom was clean but no place or hooks to hang our towels on. We hung them on the cupboard doors and the cleaning team did not move them. A sign for a heated towel rail in the bathroom was strange as there was no towel rail at all! Room was adequately furnished and bed was comfortable. Food in restaurant was good, but not much for vegetarians. Fish and chips were very good. Breakfast was exceptional and quickly replenished. Nice to see vegetarian sausaages as well as cumberland. Great variety of cereals. Staff exceptionally attentive and ensured that we had everything we wanted. We did not try the spa facilities that are in a building external to the main hotel. Would like to give special mention to the golf club section where one of our party who was having difficulty walking back to his car (he had forgotten his walking stick) was taken by a staff member in a golf buggy. With a smile. Golf course was in very good condition and we enjoyed playing it even though it tipped down with rain one of the days we were there.

The hotel is advertised as 4 star. It’s not. The double standard room I had was £123.50 per night room only. Carpet was badly stained, bathroom poor state and old shower mixer tap took two hands to turn on. I had to kill three moths before I could go to sleep as they were flying around the bedside light. Very disappointing stay. On check out reception did not ask if everything was ok with my stay. I did share the feed back but was told some rooms did need up grading. When I asked what star rating the hotel is supposed to be she said we don’t have an official star rating. My colleague who was traveling with me did get a refurbished room. He was asked to complete a review of his stay. He declined.

Breakfast was expensive.

Follow our recent stay with two other couples to celebrate my wife's birthday I can highly recommend. From the rooms, F&B facilities and especially the golf, the facilities proved fantastic value for money and we look forward to our next visit. Well done to the team at Staverton!

Such lovely staff ,excellent room ,bed so comfy I slept late and had to scramble for checkout .Quiet ,fan provided.I love the new decor .
