Bath filthy and shower controls ridiculous

What lets this hotel down isn't the staff but the actual hotel. The reception and bar area was lovely. Check in was 3pm and we arrived early hoping we might get our room earlier so that we could swim. We were told that the hotel had been extremely busy the day before and there were no rooms available just yet. We decided to go into the bar and have a drink and something to eat. We were welcomed and accommodated by a very personable and helpful bar attendant. At 2.30 we asked if our room was ready and was told providing we didn't mind a room on the ground floor, then yes. This is a large hotel. The corridors were long and dreary. We eventually got to our room. Unfortunately it was extremely dusty and we felt it had not been cleaned properly. Mould on the bathroom tiles, no aircon (fan provided) and blown double glazed windows. The telephone didn't work so we had to ring out on our mobile to contact reception. The TV didn't work properly and what did work was limited. This hotel room cost £190 for one night for two people, and breakfast. Breakfast room. Not great, not very welcoming and the food not promising, but staff very polite. Staverton Park Hotel is BIG it needs thousands upon thousands spent on it to bring it up to the required standard that would make it worth £190 per night. Unfortunately on this occasion it wasn't Location good for what we needed.

Clean and well appointed venue.

First room had cloudy window you couldn't see out of. Was small and dismal. Requested a room with walk in shower - not over bath. Only one available was an adapted room. Again scruffy and very dated but larger. Towel in bathroom had brown stains on it. Reception got housekeeping to put clean towels in. Had booked 2 nights. Checked out next morning as couldn't face staying another night. Later found out rooms due to be refurbished but in my opinion they are not fit to be let for any price. Staff were apologetic and very pleasant.

Dear Manager, I am writing to express my disappointment with my recent two-night stay at your hotel. Firstly, the bed was extremely uncomfortable, to the point where I barely slept during my stay. For a hotel, a comfortable night's sleep is one of the most basic expectations, and unfortunately this fell far short. I also purchased a Caesar wrap from the bar which contained anchovies. The menu did not state that anchovies were included. Had I been allergic to fish, this could have resulted in a very serious situation. I find this omission unacceptable and believe allergens and ingredients should be clearly listed. In addition, I paid to play golf and hired a buggy. As a solo player, I spent nearly three hours completing just nine holes because groups ahead repeatedly refused to let me play through. When I raised this with staff, no effort was made to assist or address the issue. The lack of customer service and concern was extremely disappointing. Overall, I left feeling that both the standard of service and attention to guest experience were well below what I expected. I would appreciate your comments on these issues and what you intend to do to address them. Kind regards,
